I went and checked mine, one bloom a bit dirty.

Some other brilliant colored bromeliads. NOID on these two but they are so pretty, got them in Dunnellon a couple years back. Place is called Paradise Plants I think.

Looking good Sherri. I had to transplant a large clump of Billbergia Hallelujah, I broke up the clump and spread them out and replanted. It has been a disaster, they are tall and keep falling over. I usd stakes and greenhouse staples to anchor them but every time the wind blows they go over.

Alice, wish I could bring you a bunch of my bamboo stakes, that's what I use to stand up the broms when I transplant them.

But for future reference (and today is Prime day, so they're on sale) look for "Linking garden stakes" on amazon. I've used them for years here, and in my daughter's garden in Utah as well, to keep the dogs from stepping on the irises and daylilies when they're first coming up.

They'll be perfect for holding up your tall broms. (can't find a pic right now, will take one tomorrow)

Thanks Elaine, I have used linking stakes in years past, can't remember which house or what happened to them. I do wish I had a ready supply of bamboo here, it's handy stuff.
These storms with 40 - 50 mph winds gusts are the problem. I am slowly re-planting them deeper, each one has several stakes and staples. Doing a few at a time, between the bending to dig and the razor sharp edges of each plant it is a slow process. Hilarious!

Those billbergias can get toppled over from high winds, I have some in hangers on the fence that always get blown to the ground. I just plop them back into the hanger, tough plants.

Lovely photo. This one reminds me of the flower in the film 'Invasion of the Body Snatchers'. All Bromeliad's look like they're from another planet.

Well, not all. But the leaves on this one are pretty wacky. Billbergia Celebration

Celebration looks like red white and blue fireworks. I like Billbergias with colorful spotted leaves.

This is Neoregelia Maribel in bloom

My original Aechmea fasciata 'Primera' is throwing three nice pink flower bracts at once in its multi plant grouping.

That's a pretty one, Scott. No clue here, but how tall is it? Looks like a bunch of silver swords.

Awww Sherri, no wonder you had a Maribel. Group hug

Scott, I like how you have let 'Primera' spread like that.

Aechmea blanchetiana back lit by the morning sun, just starting these blooms, they will last for months. A hummingbird visits them everyday.

More clues:
This nothogenera hybrid baby is 12" tall from soil level to tallest leaf tip. At this time the leaves resembles that of the father Bromeliad.
