Mont Martre will never not be stunning to me. Down down to me is extremely pretty. I like the earthy yellow and brown tones.

Tom - you read that wrong. It has bloomed every year for 15+ years.

Laurie - Copper Angel is a good grower besides being beautiful!

Oh, I missed the double negative, "Never not bloomed" That sounds more like it.

Schreiner's Sultan's Palace - a historic TB that really grows more like an IB for me. It would probably be reclassified nowadays. Beautiful red.

I am weeks behind in posting but last Sunday our iris society had it annual iris show. This is the first time I have actually taken any iris to be judged. I took 4 and well....

Goodness!

Gloriafied Glenn and Wonders Never Cease got TB first place ribbons.
Michigan in Dallas got a LA first place ribbon and
Tarawera Flow got a LA first place ribbon, Best Specimen In Show and an AIS Special Award. I was shocked to see my iris up on the Queen's table.

Showing iris is nerve wracking to say the least. Getting the full stalk and blooms there in your car without them breaking, then getting them to stay upright in the display bottles, and having the blooms not start to shrivel up before the end of the show...... well, I am blessed that the iris gods were generous to my gardens' blooms this year.

I have had Blyth's BB Almost Famous for a couple of years but this was its the first time blooming. It was so pretty, especially in sunlight.

Grats on the show wins, Leslie, and so many beautiful irises!

Leslie ~ You picked the iris at just the right time. You set up in your vehicle just the right system to keep them hydrated and separated. You didn't die from holding your breath too long!

I was about to say it reminded me of Moonlit Water that I have, and then I looked it up and they are siblings. Imagine how pretty they would be in a bed together, ugh another one to add to the list
