I love Black Cherry Sorbet, I have it, but it hasn't bloomed yet, just kind of hangs around making minimal increases. Not sure what to do with it, as it's in a prime spot.

Cut back?? Isn't that a Spring chore you do before the new bloom season? ...including all the pretty new ones you "rescued" to your garden?

Tom - I had the problem you are having with Black Cherry Sorbet with it's parent Red Rock Princess. I say move it to a different location and see if that helps. Of course your season is just really starting to pop so it may still bloom. Ironically most of my MTB's are what is still in bloom at the wind down of my season. **

Siberian-Butter and Sugar. They yellow is more subtle than the picture shows


Roy's Repeater (Spec-X). Smaller blooms this year, but lots of new growth.


From down the street at the edge of the woods. A neighbor flagged me down as I was passing..she was concerned they would go in her yard across the street where her small children play. I think the king snake was winning!

Holy cow Ed. What a great pic of the King snake and copperhead! I hate leaves falling in the fall because I have raked up a couple copperheads in my time.

This was an amazing iris this year. First it grew several stalks, two of which were over 50 inches tall (aka why I don't go by registered bloom height)! Next it was in bloom from April 12 to May 11. A whole month of blooms!! This is Burseen's Dial A Doll:
First blooms had horns the rest didn't but had plenty of ruffles.







Blyth's Devil's Intent was really nice this year. Another long bloomer.

And this old fashion guy is my seedling that was Jungle Shadows x Unk (bee pod). Certainly inherited Jungle Shadows shape but in honey tones. All blooms have the overlapping standards.

Wow, Dial A Doll is nice, and great that it lasted so long. Love the historic seedling too. Did you plant the seeds or did they just seed itself?

Leslie, your photos of Devil's Intent are spectacular. You should definitely put at least that second photo of it into the database.

Tom - The seedling was from collected seeds. I had more than one seedling but the others met my neighbor's old cat who was rolling over them. This one didn't bloom for years but now that it started it bloomed in two waves. The first stalks were short, the last stalk was really tall. Must have got the idea from Dial A Doll.

The historic Doctor Moody (introed in 1960, registered 2002) has just wild colors and is a bear to photograph. Got some nice correct color shots this year!

Painter's Cherokee Blaze is a real favorite of mine. I lost it, but ordered two last fall. They really went to town with blooms this April!

Great pictures, love Cherokee Blaze. One Wild Child is nice, but a lot like Gypsy Lady. And that not so historic, historic. Nice and bright. Then those amazing LA's make me envious.

Another BFTD iris for me. I used to have a whole clump until flooding rain really diminished the clump. I put them in a pot but thought I had lost the entire bunch. Last year I took all the pot ghetto and put it in the ground. I have been rewarded with an amazing bunch of iris I thought were goners!

This year my gardenias also went bloom crazy. This is Gardenia:

Do you mean peony, instead of gardenia?

You cannot be accused of having a favorite color! What a wonderful group.

I love the colorful historics. Keep me in mind if Doctor Moody ever needs thinned out.

No, the peony is named Gardenia. Kind of like the iris named Magnolia it creates confusion.
