My reason for suggesting more sun is,when I bring Flapjack in for the winter it goes all green.

I haven't figured out yet when mine turns into the lovely colors. I think my flapjacks are slightly over a year old only...so I haven't really observed them closely. Hopefully, by fall they will turn beautiful again.

If you Google kalanchoe and watch a few videos you can see there is a wide range of coloration.

Gorgeous JoAnn! I love the basket succulents (filled up beautifully)! And that Kalanchoe is just absolutely stunning! Of course I love all the other comboplanters as well. Mine get too tall and too leggy in 2 to 3 months. Yours are staying beautiful all the time.

Jo Ann, those containers just get more beautiful with time. Your combinations are filled with eye appeal.
That succulent basket has changed so much from when you first planted it. Beautiful. Smiling

I hold my breath to see how the outdoor semps do over winter.
I have a container but need SIL to drill a hole in the bottom.I want one of those huge bluegreen succulent cacti plants for it,it's heavy terrecotta clay and would need to come in for the winter so the plant doesnt necessarily need to be zone 6a

I purchased a blue pot because I thought my Century Plant Agave Americana Blue Succulent would look good in a blue pot. The blue pot made the plant look more green. The blue plant looks prettier and bluer in a white or yellow pot.

So you might want to think of a yellow, red succulent to compliment the blue of the pot. I bet that Kalanchoe would be beautiful in the middle and a red trailing succulent circling the Kalanchoe .

Cinta:you have a point about complimentary colors. The bluegreen plants I see on google are all in terrecotta or some neutral color planter so why wouldnt the reverse work.

Yes Jo Ann I was so excited when I found the blue pot and was so disappointed when I planted in the pot. I am looking for a prettier pot for the Century plant now so the blue stands out again. It is why I like the plant because of the blue color.

I see on the other post you are getting some good suggestions. You will find the perfect plant for that beautiful pot.

JoAnn

As with everything you seem to touch, your August containers are stunning.

In the 4th picture down, what is the white branching plant? This is the plant that is in the middle of the photo and goes down towards the succulents on the floor of the deck.

Love everything you have done.

Carolyn
