It was very hot trying to work in the garden yesterday in the full sun. I can't take the heat like I used to, but managed to work about an hour before I had to quit. Anyway, here's a couple more pictures from yesterday. When I took Poppy out this morning in the dark, I noticed a few more open blooms with the flash light, so there should be more pictures coming later. A few of the early irises out in the outer gardens away from the house are now starting to open. This 80 + degree weather is moving things along.

Not sure of a name for this little Species iris, but it's cute.


Immortality one of the few rebloomers that will rebloom in this area.


Little Elfin Shadows, one of Lucy's creations, has bloomed. Love this little guy, a great grower and cute to boot.


Peebee and Jay, another cute little one that I enjoy.


Sherbet Bomb, growing on a kind of distorted stalk and being crowded by another bud. It hasn't bloomed here since 2020, and is barely hanging on, but it has one more bud to open, so maybe that one will be better.

Magic Ring sure did open a bunch all at once, love this one.


Reckless Abandon, just always love it when this one shows up.

Tamali Time, another one that has exploded with a bunch of blooms today.


Flauntress is a nice bright spot in the bed.


Butterfly Affair is a fun iris, it changes color a bit as it ages.


Sammie's Jammies opened this morning as well.

There are a couple more that I need to get pictures of yet today, but I have to get busy.

Great, glad it made the trip and is blooming for you. Mine has stalks, but will be a while yet.

This is Neglecta, a gift from Arlyn. It's a great grower.


Perfection is also a great grower here.


Belvi Queen, another fast grower is a gift from Arlyn.

Now on to newer iris.


Ginger Treat, one more of our Lucy's creations opened yesterday. Love this one, and it grows so well.


Path To Heaven, a lovely iris, good grower. I will need to take a pic of the next bloom, this one isn't as nicely shaped as I know they usually are. Love the color.


Noble Gesture is making a nice clump.

It is particularly elegant and fully handsome...
(I don't find any difficulty for it to become an all time favourite)

My bloom stalk was broken off by a delivery Truck.
It was one I really wanted to see bloom.

Looks like you are getting a lot of color, this year, Tom ~ I think I must be about "peak", right now.

Tom, thank you for the inspirational photos. I started with my Iris's 2 years ago. My mom always had them but I never had the desire to plant them even though I love their flowers. However my Iris beds are now jammed! I planted 12 more in another location and 2 have bloomed so far -don't remember the name of one but she's an eye grabber. I moved the iris's that came with the house last fall. They never bloomed and hardly grew. I gave them an open sunny spot with good soil. Wow! Location, location, location. They came up like gang busters. I think Iris's may be my new obsession. Can you blame me?

I have been eyeing this on Mid-America because it captivates me. It is stupendous. I really, really want it -- like bad!!!!!!!!!
