Enjoying your pictures, Tom. I was out in the garden just now and discovered that a critter, most likely a deer had pulled Flash Mob entirely out of the ground, and chomped off the bloom stem as well. Now I know a cutworm didn't do that, so now I expect that the same animal probably was responsible for chomping off my Celebration Song bloom stem, and then spitting it out onto the ground. I need to get back out there with a trowel and re-plant Flash Mob.

Back in from replanting Flash Mob. And while I was doing it, I found a fresh pile of deer poop just about 5 feet away from the scene of the crime.

Thanks for the nice comments. It's so darn hot and humid that I can't get much done outside. Sure drains the energy from me. Sorry to hear the darn deer are attacking the irises. They usually take a bite and then spit it out cause they don't like the taste.

Yes, but the fawns apparently have to learn that irises taste nasty.

Thanks Arlyn, I still have some pictures to post. The Earl is showing a lot of color, so I expect the first TB to open tomorrow or the next day. Many of the TB's near the house have stalks, the ones out farther are not there yet. Boy taking pictures and uploading them sure can eat up the time. We're getting rain this evening, got a nice amount I'd guess. That will make the lawn grow, and give me more things to do. Rolling my eyes. Just what I need.

I'm astonished at how many lovely SDBs you have, Tom!

Are the SDBs the bulk of your collection, or do you have the same number (or more) of TBs?

Just curious. Whistling

Some more open this morning. Also some I've been trying to get good pictures of, and finally got some. It's overcast this morning, so the colors come out more correct I think.

But first I'm going to have some of these cream cheese filled lemon muffins I made with a cup of coffee.

Oh dear, I'm going to have to take the rest of these over to the neighbor or I'll gain 5 Lbs. Hilarious!

First another picture of Unwritten, the later blooms are looking more ruffled then the first ones, so I took another picture.

I like those beards on Girl Power, too. Tom Johnson and Paul Black have done so much wonderful work on getting lovely contrasting beards onto their irises.

I have Girl Power on order, and your photo makes me even more glad that I do!
