Today I carefully dug up 5 of my Micro Tomatoes. These were just not doing well. I decided to put them all in one larger container pot so that is what I did.

The ones thiving I let in ground were they were.

So moved 3 Orange Hats and 2 Micro Tinas.

One Orange hat has blooms and even a tiny tomato set. I mean tiny.

It's amazing how fast some of these micros go from germination to flowering.

I sowed some Micro-Tina and they germinated on July 20th. Today, less than a month later, they have flower buds already. But going from flower to ripe fruit is where the long wait is. In the meantime, they are very ornamental. Orange Hat in particular is quite attractive to me. They really do excel as container plants.

I think my big mistake was simply putting them in ground. They are so small that they seem to get lost. Now we will see how these ones I tansferred to that pot do. And I have some in ground ones to compair.

I just can't get over how small these things are.

Yesterday tasted first ripe tomato off Dwarf Tomato Project Uhuru Orchre . Sure is a different taste. Of course it is that very odd color also. But quite striking looking sliced open.

Lots of flavor, no sweetness. Almost a bite to it.

I generally grow Micro-Tina in 4" pots, rarely going larger than that.

Orange Hat seems to like more of a 1 gallon container.

How big is the pot? It might end up looking really nice!

Not very big. 16 inches of usuable space from side to side. This pot is a leftover keeper black nursery pot that I had for ages and obviously bought some shrub in years ago.

They'll be a little crowded, but I bet they'll be okay. Will be a fun experience to watch them fill out that container!

Fine with me if these are somewhat crowded. I would rather have them together instead of in various pots.

They were always small but now even shorter plants. Because after the transplanting they ended up planted deeper than they were!!

Today I picked three morelarge tomatoes off Dwarf Tomato Project Uhuru Orche. The other day I had two and I ate those quickly.

My first taste of this one I needed another to me sure of my decision on the taste. Taste is VERY unique and different. Color different also.

Nothing bland about this one. I think one would love it or hate it. I loved it.

I do give lots of tomatoes away. Not this one, saved for myself.

The only tomaro I can compair it to is Terra Cotta. Both have that same weird color and and zing to the flavor.

My favorite tomato this year. Love it/

Picking lots of really pretty ones. Adelaide Festival, Dwarf Beauty King, Metallica and Andys Forty stand out here. Will be growing all of them next year.

I love beautiful really different and striking tomatoes. I wow my neighbors with the awesome ftuits. And taste as great as they look.

Has anyone grown "Dwarf Sneaky Sauce" ? I'm particularly wondering how tall it might get when planted in the ground.

Don't have that one.

But for most of the season my Dwarf Project Plants were not so tall. Now almost September and they have decided to get taller again.

Rita, were yours planted in the ground or in pots? I've been a little shocked at how tall different varieties get when planted in the ground, that are only supposed to be a couple of feet tall...

Yes, they are all in ground. They got really tall by the end of last season but I was hoping they would not get so tall this year.

But I still love these Dwarf Tomato Project plants. The tomatoes are all so tasty!!

So I went and measured my Uhuru Ochre plants. The cages they are now in are about 40 inches from the ground till the top. And the plants are taller than the cages. The plants go over 50 inches tall and keep getting taller.

Well, I sure did not do that well with my micro tomatoes.

Those ones I transferred into a large pot together all died.

Then there are some still in ground but so far I have only gotten ripe tomatoes off one plant of Rosey Finch. Sour so no I really did not like them.

However I was surprised that a five inch or shorter planr made full sised chery tomatoes. That would be like one of my determinate 4 foot plants produced basketball sized tomatoes. Shocking.

I tried it out but Micro Tomatoes don't seem to be for me. I doubt I will ty agan next yesr. But no harm in tying.

I do like 'Rosella Crimson' -- very sweet flavor, not prone to splitting. Nice addition to bruschetta or anything with mixed varieties. I don't think I'd want them in a BLT.
