Thanks, Vickie. Bradley Hardy is growing in my mailbox bed, and I missed the bloom when I did my usual morning rounds. I saw it several times pulling in and out of the driveway on errands during the day, and every time, I thought, "I need to get a picture of that poly." But then I would forget to grab the camera when I got back into the house. I finally remembered after it was getting dark. I managed to get a pic and then used editing to lighten it up a bit.

Teresa, that is a great shot. Painted Pinwheel looks like the star attraction with an adoring audience behind.

Got my first poly of the season, and it's a 5x5! At least that I am aware of, you know how those polys can escape the eye if you're not looking for them. But there was no mistaking this huge bloom. Smiling Too bad the background isn't prettier. It will be getting moved if I can find a spot.

Osterized

The description in the AHS dictionary describes Polymerous says:
"Moreover, polymerous daylilies have extra stamens; eight if there are four petals or ten for five petals, rather than the usual six but there will be only one pistil."
https://daylilies.org/daylily-...

However, I counted several times and this particular poly on Osterized only has 9 stamens. Just a fluke or maybe one is hiding somewhere, but I counted several times.

I do think that sometimes nature does not seem to remember the rules. So sometimes a stamen may be very short and deformed and be down deep in the throat, or completely missing. I did also notice that in the definition it starts with "For daylily registration and exhibition purposes.." I could see that might be a deduction in an exhibition show.I also noticed the description says "Polymerous daylilies have the extra sepals and petals evenly spaced in their respective whorls,.." that doesn't always appear to be true either. Sometimes polys look rather wonky. Noticed also the wording in regard to petals and sepals " (usually the same number as sepals)", so maybe the definition is not totally uniform in it's wording?
I certainly would not question your bloom being a poly due to it not having 10 stamen. But a judge in a show might possibly make a deduction?

I missed a beautiful poly today on Wispy Rays. It was huge, we had a family reunion today and was gone almost all day. I went out close to 8pm and it was getting dark Angry

I think it was Dave who came up with polypellars. It looks like a little propeller….instead of having an extra petal and sepal, it only has two of each.
