How do you get your climbing onions to put forth so much greenery? I've got one and I'm lucky to get two shoots out of it a year. I'm so jealous!

Kim, I don't know! I do water those in Winter and they get plenty of light. And then they are in a warm surrounding, minimum 60 degr F in Winter , and right now on a sunny day we hit 80 degr. in the greenhouse.

Ursula,
I passed by this tread by not knowning what's it's about. Wow, am I impressed. I am knocked out with you collection. Thumbs up Some of those look like a Euphorbia crossed with a Huernia. Love it.
I noticed you have a small collection of Asclepiads. Maybe we can compare and maybe trade some with each other? Any pictures of their blooms?

Ursula,
I was going to purchased seed of some different pachypodium. I was told they have to have a summer rest with no water and little water in winter. I am confused. How do you take care of yours? I was hopping for a winter rest w/no water which like you I live up north zone 6. Also how much light during winter.

Perhaps the seller lives in the Southern hemisphere?
My Pachys are sitting throughout the Winter in a very sunny spot and I only direct water sparingly every so often into their direction, I certainly don't soak them, I just don't want the roots to die off totally.
Comes Spring I water just a bit more when I see them waking up/ budding and showing green tips. Once it is really warm around here in Summer and they are in active growth, I water along with everything else! I just make sure the pots/medium really drain well!

Thank you, Sounds like how to care for most succulents. That's how I care for my Sansevieria (Snake Plants). So I think I will try some. I do love your plants and you got me interested in them. I am good with seeds and Should have some nice ones come next year. Will post when I get started.
Thanks again.

David, thanks so much! Smiling
Right now I am again in the process of moving all my plants inside and I must say, this lovely warm and sunny Summer we had provided a great outdoor vacation for them, I see a lot of good growth on most.

I been taking care of my plants inconsistently over the last half year so they been going in and out of dormancy.
But recently I been taking better care of them and a bunch of my pachypodiums are starting to leaf out again. Hurray! Hurray! Hurray!

Your plants are amazing. Thank you for sharing them. I have never seen so many different types like them before and I know nothing about orchids *Blush* . They look like they are from a different planet! I was going to post a topic just today about my "fat plants" too, mostly versions of pachyphytums. Gotta love those fatties! Hilarious! I think fat plants are comforting plants.
