Baby birds (as well as other animals) are so adorable. I still don't see any adult Doves around. We have lots of Mourning Doves around here all the time ... hope these little ones haven't been abandoned! Crying

Poor little babies! Hope the parents are feeding them. And they need to learn to FLY in a hurry!

The babies were separately walking around, in and out from beneath a tree this morning ... then this afternoon they came out and stayed out ... huddled in the rain for awhile (getting wet until I put the umbrella out) and when the rain stopped they moved out even farther and have been huddled together beneath a small spindly shrub for the past four or five hours. I keep looking out the window at them and they are still alive but haven't moved since @ 3 O'clock this afternoon. I've been looking around for adult Doves; usually we have many, many doves about during the day but I haven't seen any this afternoon; Confused I'm not sure where they've all gone.

They seemed to be pretty calm all day, and good news (I think) ... I went out a few minutes ago (just before getting dark) and the babies are gone from beneath the shrub. I'm hoping they've climbed up into the tree. I will look in the morning.

They have pretty good natural built in survivor skills so I wouldn't worry too, too much.

Hurray! The baby Doves are still here ... and this morning I saw an adult perched on the fence nearby! Keeping my fingers crossed for those little ones!

There are so many babies this time of year. A few minutes ago I was out in the front yard and heard a baby bird crying up in a Palm tree ... I went back and grabbed my camera and came out to watch for a few minutes. There was a female Red-bellied feeding a baby ... mama finally flew from the palm over to another tree and baby sat for a minute crying but then followed mama to the other tree! I managed to get a couple of pictures of the youngster:

Ann: Rolling on the floor laughing I haven't learned anything about it ... I just leave it on automatic. I can turn the zoom thingy to zoom in/out but other than that ... that's all I know about cameras. My husband keeps telling me I should learn some of the different functions but my brain gets addled and I get frustrated too easily so I'm perfectly happy to know what I know. Green Grin! He did show me the other day how to take video - push the red button to start/push the red button to stop. Rolling on the floor laughing Rolling on the floor laughing Rolling on the floor laughing I took video of birds and little teensy crabs at the beach but we both laughed so hard at how unsteady my hands were ... made me quite dizzy watching it!

*Blush* It doesn't take much to confuse and frustrate me. Camera's, Computers, Cell Phones Televisions, etc. etc. (pretty much all electronics) are much smarter than me! Green Grin!

Your problem is just that you get intimidated by them. You aren't stupid & you aren't inept. You just get too nervous & think the electronic item is smarter than you are. It is NOT. It can't operate without YOU. Remember that.
