Please note that, it is not my hybrid.

Thank you! They love it that hubby trimmed the oak tree that was shading them! But I did fertilize them too so that probably helped.

Gigi, you do SUCH a wonderful job with your Vanda. That is a beautiful display!
This is the first success I can post about.

had fusarium , after cutting away all the infected parts , I was left with 3 pieces with 3 bulbs each. They were soaked in Banrot fungicide overnight and set in empty clay pots to sprout new roots... then potted up. Fusarium kills the roots and rhyzomes , also the eyes where new roots and bulbs come from so there's no guarantee of roots or future growth.

So glad you were able to revive your Renate, Lindsey. Mine is gone, at least the one division in the basket is. I still have a piece on a cork mount but it's not looking happy.

I have two new blooms open today, my good old deep purple NOID Den, with just one small spike going, and (of course) flowers looking in opposite directions.

Another of my semi-terete Vandas has a meager two flowers, but they're nice size and a pretty color. Not complaining. this is V. Dr. Anek x V. Josephine van Brero I think. (no tag) There's another one that just finished blooming, same color so it's a wild assumption.

Beautiful Elaine! Is your Vanda inside a screen enclosures? Mine is in full sun outside and hubby trimmed the branch that was shading the Vanda and that's when I noticed these flourishing. These are attached to my draceana.

I keep those little Vandas outside the cage, Gigi. They get as much sun as possible where they are right now. I really have a fairly small area of sun in my garden in the summer.

In winter they live in the hoop house area, which stays warm and gets sun most of the day, too. So I have to move them around, but they're doing much better now that I've found what they need. I just need to feed them more often now, I think. They all have pretty good new growth on them. I'm out there spraying them down with the hose 3 times a day now, too.

Oh I didn't know they need that much water. I water them once a day in the morning if we have no rain.

Just spraying with the hose on days when there are no clouds, and it's so hot. Most days they get watered in the morning by the automatic system and that's it.

Sure hope we start getting some more regular rain! We only got another little 'teaser' this morning from what looked like a really good rain storm. Sighing!
