Since no one was nice enough to answer my question, I need help from the administrators: I cannot view the winners of the Victory Seed contest. The page refuses to finish loading and eventually freezes. Its not my connection, I can pull up and navigate through the rest of the forum.

It did!! Thank you so very much! I knew I wasn't going to win, only professionals do, but I wanted to see anyway. Lovely winners, especially the sunflowers!

That's ok, I'm sure there were many other disappointed people. I feel sorry for amateur photographers like me who don't stand a chance against people with $1000+ cameras. That's why I feel that a lot of the photo contests are unfair to people who can only use their phones or simple digital cameras.

I've taken the majority of my images the last few years with my cell phone and I bet the majority of the winners are from phones too. I've been here since we first started the photo contests and some of our members are pretty talented and have an artistic eye for photography composition and lighting. Many of the newer phones have very sophisticated cameras.

All of the winners of the contest were bona fide customers of VSC, regular people mostly with regular phones to take photos. It is poor sportsmanship on your part to complain and cast shade on their their win as only happening due to superior equipment or training. You're supposed to be congratulating them.

I hope Megan, Audrey, Barbara, Anita, Sherry, Christa, Eileen, and the others who won in the contest don't see this thread.

I didn't say I'm not congratulating them. I clearly said the winning photos were beautiful.

Isn't that a bit like saying, "It's not fair I didn't win the foot race, everyone else had better shoes than I did." Photography seems to be more about composition and focus than anything else to me. I'm not great at it, but I keep trying. I mostly use an inexpensive camera and sometimes get a great shot. Don't give up.
