Unseasonably warm here, too, and really dry. The last good rain was on September 7th, and that was when we had the 2" downpour that came down so fast, it washed out our laneway. A lot of it probably ran off rather than soaking in. We need several days of good rain. There is none in the forecast over the next week, though. More summer time temperatures and sun.

Today's high 75F or 24C and sunny. Warmer temperatures in the upcoming forecast. Normal temperature for this time of year is 61F or 16C. Usually we get a good amount of rain, too.

So for those of you with too much rain, send it northward Thumbs up

Beautiful, Jill!

I'm glad you didn't wash away Rita.

Linda, I was going to give you grief for calling my hot pink salvia red but looking at my pictures of the pink salvia compared to the pic of my red salvia, they look pretty similar ( but not so much in person)

Hot pink:

Red:

Shrug!

They have bloomed continuously since spring and they shelter the daylilies somewhat from the deer since they have a strong scent

D'Oh! Oh no, sorry Jill. On my monitor sometimes I am not sure if a red is that or a dark pink. I will just pretend it was red. Hilarious! Even if it is pink I liked it. Hilarious! Smiling

Jill, everything there looks so lush!

Valerie, I'd be happy for Rita and everyone with too much rain to send some your way if they could also direct a bit south towards me. I don't know when the last good rain fell here but it may have been early September. We've had drizzles on occasion since then, but no soaking rainfall and are very dry now. Nothing in our forecast for the foreseeable future.

Not a drop of rain in two weeks (Sept) but fabulous warm leaf peeping weather. Also the nights are not so cold.
Contrast with July incessant rain and 48F mornings!
Some non reblooming daylilies are trying to rebloom.

Yes Nan it was nice having the woodstove going slowly taking the damp chill out of the house. Much nicer than running the furnace. Won't be needing either this week as we will be joining in on the warm weather, near 80 on Wed! There's gonna be a big change over the Columbus Day weekend when temps will drop and we could see some "s" flakes. It'll be pretty on the foliage if our leaves change by then here in the river valley.

I sure wish I could send rain to everyone who wants some!!! We added another .29" yesterday.

Today was pretty nice. Started with clouds giving way to sunshine by 10am. A little bit of time to let everything dry off and then it was outside to work on the display garden clean up & trim. Only a little left to do which I'll finish tomorrow. Temps were 52 & 72.

Here in Denver, it was 89 degrees after an overnight low of 48. Blooming today were Genesta, a budbuilder still cranking them out and first flower on a rebloom scape of Two to Tango.

Another warm, humid day with a high of 79F or 26C. I weeded one of my borders today and it felt like mid-summer out there. Char, we are going to cool down at the end of the week, too. Many of my daylilies are totally dormant. At least I hope they are dormant and not dead Hilarious!

Yes it was bad for lots of areas here. I did not go anywhere so no worries for me about flooded streets. My flowers did get bat up but when many people had far worse.

Probably the National News showed pictures of some of the Subway and Road Flooding.

Today sunny and warm. That is good so things will dry out.

We are suposed to get a string of warm sunny days now. I am glad because it may make up for the long string of days of rain.

It had been cold and all my windows were closed. I was even temped to turn the heat on but it was just too early in the seasion.

Today some windows are open again to let in the warmth.

A glorious start to October - 76/50, sunny. Beautiful day; we are 7-10 degrees warmer than average. Our weather guy calls it "severely nice weather". However it seems we need to enjoy it (and get the planting done) as by a week from tomorrow we may have frost.

Gorgeous sunrise Dave!!!

Hilarious! I'm sure they are going dormant Valerie. There's been a big foliage difference here with the dl's hurrying to get "down" after the colder mornings last week. I'm keeping my fingers crossed I can get those last pods in before we get a freeze.

It actually felt hot today after being cold and damp. Foggy again but it lifted early and we were treated to blue sky sunshine, high of 77. Got a lot done outside, display garden is all trimmed and just needs a few sections weeded. Then I need to update maps and see where there are empties to move new plants into. Low this morning was 49.
Our windows and doors were open today letting the heat in too, Rita.

Hi Ginny!

Yes, I did make it home with a stop at Phil & Debbie's garden in
Parkersburg and a few days at Cheryl Otto's garden. Cheryl's was amazing! Ummm, I ended up taking a few plants home with me. Hilarious!
