Robyn and Lori, such beautiful blooms! Lovey dubby

Robyn, you have particularly striking daylilies and I agree with Nan, lovely photos as always.

So true, Robyn's Daylilies and photos make my eyes pop!

Here's what bloomed yesterday and today. There's a bunch of scapes out there, we'll see if the bloom or not, last year I had bloom into November. Robyn, I lost Scarpia that way this year. Bloomed like crazy last year, then promptly died. But I don't think anything more established will perish from not blooming their scapes. That was a new plant…

So Lovely yesterday

Thank you. Hurray!

I think you are right, it's prolly letting a new plant exhaust itself.

A few more from yesterday

We're supposed to go into the 40s over the weekend EEK!! I hope it doesn't mess up blooms. I know the ones opening those days won't open well but I hope it won't kill stuff. I have two scapes on seedlings I want to see. I'm tempted to cover them.

Tahiti Sweetie is so cute! And Lillian's Hot and Spicy looks very nice!

I guess I should cut back the scapes that have prolifs on them if I don't intend to do anything with them so the plant can go dormant. I took about 15 prolifs off of Small World Aliens in the Sky and they are rooting in water. I think I just need to get them in the ground. I waited and waited to see roots when they were on the scape, but the never did anything, now they at least have small roots.

I've had them grow roots even when there wasn't even a bump. I lots of times have more than one prolif on a scape and the lower one will get roots going but the upper ones won't. Once it looks like the scape is dying back I put them all in water, most times they all get roots.

I debated whether I even wanted to save them because SW Aliens in the Sky multiplies so fast anyway. But I was in the mood one day and cut them off even though I really didn't want them. I'll just plant them next to the clump and see what happens. Getting pretty late in the year though.

Hurray! Hurray! I have an October bloom!!

Might Do, FFE, struggled for nearly a week to open. I moved the pot to a sunnier spot and gave it extra water and - voila! It popped open early this morning. There are a couple more buds though I don't hold out much hope for them. Doing a little happy dance to see this one!

Non-daylilies:
The only bloom I've gotten as the deer keep eating the buds and plants:
Peacock Orchid

Planted this Epimedium just a couple of weeks ago and am surprised to see it blooming - couldn't get a good photo of just the blooms:
Pretty In Pink

Salvia Hot Lips - has done very well!

Garden Phlox Ka-Pow White Bicolor, also planted within the past two weeks, blooming in spite of no rain.

I just got an Epimedium last week, I thin it's called Cupid's Bow. I need to plant it soon. The bed isn't ready, story of my life. Love the Salvia Hot Lips

"Evocative" has sent up another rebloom scape. The colors on these cooler season blooms are nicer than the mid-summer blooms, which is good, because I was considering moving this plant to the "back hill", but I guess it can stay for another season.

Hey all, I have photos to process {I shoot in raw so have to change the format} but I'm cleaning beds and getting stuff planted so it will be a few days. We have low 40s both Saturdays and Sunday night, I hope it doesn't hurt my scapes too badly. It will only be down that low for a short time, we're low 70s for days.

War Horse is pretty. I need that as this farm is supposed to be a horse farm, but only two mares left now, unless I can talk my husband into another one, he thinks I'm too old. LOL

Orion, I JUST planted Cliffjumer 10 days ago. I had gotten cliffjumper gift seeds and all the kids were gorgeous tall beautiful faces but crap branching so I gave them all to a friend this summer, I gave them 3 years to show me something. Then I realized I missed those bright red, yellow and green throat faces. Maybe I'll make my own kids from it.
