Oh my, that is so beautiful! Thumbs up It sure looks like one that Linda identified for me last year as the Spicebush Swallowtail.

Fortunately, they don't seem really prickly when handled. I miss the Zebra Longwings. Haven't had any around for quite a few years!

Jay, that is a cute pic of the Gulf Frit Cat! They will devour the leaves but it's so nice to see them around knowing there will be more beautiful B'flies in the near future!

Linda: I've not seen many Butterflies yet this year for some reason. Hopefully more will appear as the summer progresses ... we used to get lots of Zebra Longwings but the past two years not so much; but that kinda goes for some of the others as well ... and yet, so many things are in bloom that the B'flies love ...

My neighbor's Passiflora is suddenly devoid of the Gulf Fritillary caterpillars ... there were four or five on it last week and also Gulf Frit's flying all around the plant (hopefully to deposit more eggs.) I haven't noticed B'flies around the plant this week either. Sad I sure hope the neighbor didn't spray the plant thinking they were an unwanted pest. Crying

I saw quite a few butterflies in the garden yesterday but they wouldn't sit still long enough for me to get photos. Glare

I know! Today I saw a beautiful Zebra Longwing flying in the yard...it headed to Vitex Tree blooms, but didn't stay on the blooms long enough for me to get a shot of it! I haven't seen one of those butterflies in years! I think my wishing for it, made it happen!

I'm so happy to see the butterflies back in my garden ... they are not in abundance but it's good to see that they are back! I'm hoping that as summer wears on there will be lots of these flying beauties!

With this heat, humidity and mugginess we're having, I can't get the camera to take pics. It just fogs up.

How do y'all take the great pics? I know some, if not all of you are having the same weather we're having. Confused I'm all ears!

Marilyn: It's very humid here too and sometimes impossible to keep the camera lens from fogging up.
