Looks like Elephant Ear (Colocasia esculenta 'Black Runner') aka Black Ruffles. Leaves will stay a dull green color in low sun situations more sun and they turn a dull black. It takes after its name and will run profusely. And a nice looking plant btw.

@papa Can you ID one more? This one just "popped up" from all the rain we've had.

Get a load of what was at Lowe's today - getting rained on generously, which made me (and them) pretty happy. I just wished I had room for one more huge foliage plant . . gorgeous black stems. All the tag said was "elephant ears".

I just want my Jacks Giants to grow. When I left a week and a half ago for vacation I saw them sprouting up. But now they are still only a foot tall. It was so cold for so long, It took for ever for them to even show growth.

Sandi that plant looks like Upright Elephant Ear (Alocasia 'Portora')
And seams like it would like a little bit more sun leaves should be reaching for the sky.

I wish my lowe's had thoes.

Marie have you feed your Jack's yet if not give them half strength MG then go to full strength once they show more growth they are heavy feeders.

Thanks again, papa! I appreciate the ID. I will move it to a more sunny location before it gets too hot to go outside!

Papa I have been wondering about Sway also. It looks like he hasn't posted in 9 months. I have some wonderful plants from him, EEs, voodoo plants and castor bean seeds. Those are are about 6 ft high so far.

@papa DD came over this morning to help me get Adora out of pot (re: Post #1180560). We used a long knife to loosen the roots after we filled the pot with water. It was messy and back breaking, but it's out! I'll plant it behind the pond and hope it survives.

I hope so. I also dug up the A. portora. It isn't very happy being displaced.
