I apologize for the image on a 90 degree angle. But I got this from a friend of mine in early February. It is a large plant growing kind of helter skelter!
It is Cattleya intermedia. This is the typical form. It is available in an alba, semi-alba, albescens and coerulea variety. It comes in different shades of pink with a darker lip.
I have not grown this since I had a coerulea clone about 12 years ago. I did lose it.
I had a nice alba clone that had much taller growths back in the mid 80's and that lived about 20 years. This one is a clone of some 75 bulbs. Early this summer, I will try to harvest and few divisions in an attempt to spread it around.
This flower has a natural spread of 9.4 cm. It is slightly fragrant. It is capable of flowering several times a year.
