Congrats on the ribbon, Jim! Thumbs up
Looking forwards to see your Habenaria medusa in bloom. It will be nice to compare notes, mine looks like it is spiking too. Hmm about Andy, he is usually better than that.

Jim, I'll be showing David Sanders to his cousin on my iPad tomorrow. Mine is content to grow roots. That Schomburgkia thompsoniana wins my heart. Lovey dubby Is that the one I "forced" you to get at Redlands?

Yes, Kathy, and thank you for your heavy handedness. This is the second blooming for me.

Back out in the OC, I discovered some I missed on the first look. Try saying this name three times quickly; Stellamizutaara Kelly 'Lea' The abbreviation is Stlma and it is a first time bloomer for me.

Then I found Lc. Hwa Yuan 'Angel' hiding under the Brassavolas by the bottle palm.

Haha, about my heavy handedness. Brings back great memories of the two of us working the vendors at Redlands. You would butter them up with your Spanish and then we would hone in for the best plants!
Didn't you win the photo contest on my cubit with Lc George Baldwin X C. Trithena? I used to have Stellamizutaara Kelly 'Lea' but it isn't on my list anymore.... Sad

Me too, and I agree on the name. The colors on big George are incomparable.

I took these Cirrhopetalum sikkimense pictures just a day before we went to Ecuador and they were patiently sitting there in my files to be posted soon!
It is a cute little plant and blooms easily.

And there are the Bulbos in bloom - echinolabium stinks happily ( tough to get to for a picture) about and the Bulbo Jersey has been blooming for a while now. Btw Jersey does not stink at all.

As Ted says, all are beautiful but I really like the Cirrhopetalum too, The whole plant is so pretty with the flowers coming out in all directions.

Ursula, the Cirrhopetalum sikkimense is a winner. I love it.

The tiny Phymatidium tillandsioides starts blooming on schedule, a little meadow dotted with the teensiest little birds.

Dendrobium tobaense surprised me with a single large bloom this week. The plant is smallish and never really grew much.

Epiphronitis Veitchii v. variegata is coming back from the brink of death! This one was a large plant years ago and then simply declined. But I was always able to keep a piece alive and it actually started to grow this Spring. And it is blooming. This one has really pretty, variegated growth and I hope it keeps on growing.

Phymatidium tillandsioides looks good. Love the little guys.

Dendrobium tobaense, outstanding bloom. I will have to be on the lookout for both of these

Go for it, Ted!
The Phymatidium really took off when I started to grow it horizontally ( on tree fern) The roots are very fine and the plant doesn't really grow enough strong roots to stay anchored in a pot or on a mount. This one is one of Klaus' favorites.

If my memory serves me correctly, I think I have seen it in one of the J & L greenhouses last year. I don't see it now at their website, but one could call.
