Not bad, considering I haven't seen a living Queen butterfly so far this year! Sneaky mom! The Queen caterpillar I found on Texas Milkweed.

Oh, very cool; I'd love to see a Queen B'fly!

I'm still seeing a few Monarch's around and a couple of caterpillars on the Scarlet Milkweed:

Beautiful tiger, tarev! It seems to have missing tails, but butterflies can manage without them.
Okay, here's a Black Swallowtail I raised, now on a tree outside, waiting until it is ready to try flying. And a close-up of the Queen caterpillar, who will get plenty of fresh milkweed, since no other caterpillars have needed any this year (and I have lots of it):

tarev: Wow, that Swallowtail is way up on the side of the building; sad that something ate it's tail. Sad

Linda: Lovely Black Swallowtail and Queen Cat ... first time I've ever seen a photo of the caterpillar of the Queen B'fly ... pretty!

Monarch's are still around, and this afternoon I spotted a Red-banded Hairstreak:

Well, today I saw this sulfur butterfly and a Texas Powdered Skipper:
Thumb of 2013-07-05/LindaTX8/c28ae5 Thumb of 2013-07-05/LindaTX8/b70091
And here's a Snowberry Clearwing Moth that emerged today in the container in which I raised it. I released it afterward...love how they fly...kind of hover-flying!
Thumb of 2013-07-05/LindaTX8/129a78
And then there's the Spicebush Swallowtail caterpillars that I brought home from a native plant nursery. First one is smaller and still has a bird-dropping form. The larger one has taken on a green appearance with eyespots. SO cute!

Linda, beautiful Sulphur; such a pretty color! I've never seen a Snowberry Clearwing and that is one neat looking moth. Awesome shots of the caterpillars too ... they are so unusual and so cool looking! Hurray! Thumbs up

Wow, very pretty ... both the Sulphur and the Zinnia!!

I'm not good at all comparing photo's but I wonder if it could be the Dainty Sulphur? http://www.butterfliesandmoths...

Walking in my flower bed I saw this one just laying there. It had obviously just expired. Who knows why... maybe it had plain lived out it's life. Anyway, it was so beautiful & of course there was no problem getting it to hold still for photos so I took the opportunity to snap pics of both sides of it.
