I did see some black swallowtails(I think) today, but they are tough to catch on camera. Are they the males?

The furry skipper's face looks like Lambchop in brown.

I do remember!!! Cute comparison, Ann!

I was just out trying to get some shots of the Lilies and was moving one around, didn't see the 2 Skippers on the back of it.

Well, one flew away, but the other just sat and looked right at me while I was holding the Lily not 5 inches from me! He wasn't going anywhere!

He just sat there and was still on it when I left!

Maybe he was telling me "Hey, this is my flower. I got here first."

I couldn't believe it. Maybe they get used to you??

Fantastic detail in that 3rd shot Janice!!!! You can see his proboscis perfectly! And he looks like he has a Fu Man Chu! How COOL!!!

J: Love the moth photo's and the pretty sunflower ... and I had to go back to see the bee!

Ann: I remember Shari Lewis and her puppets Lamb Chop & Charlie Horse! I had to go back to look at the furry skipper again and he does sorta resemble Lambchop!

Janice: Very cool that the skipper sat there while you were so close! They always flutter off when I get too close. I love that third shot too.
