Dave: Good day in your garden? Wow, it looks like it was a GREAT day! Love the Flutterby's and the Hummingbird Moth!

J: It looks like it's been a great day in your garden too!

We drove up to St. Augustine for a late lunch this afternoon so I haven't spent any time in my garden today. We just got home and a storm is rolling through so I doubt I will be out viewing birds and butterflies today.

Heading into the kitchen now to make some banana bread!

Ok. I need some identification help here. I think it is a skipper of some sort. Could not get a very good shot as he was well above my head.

Gosh how I miss the Monarch. Simply stunning! I lived in the Chicago area for 25 years and there were waves of them. I have not seen them here on my little part of Tennessee.

Wooooooooo Hoooooooooooo!!!!!

I got a couple today. Zebra Longwing was really vexing me. My dh was standing not 2 feet from Mr. or Mrs. Long Wing just hung out sipping on the salvia not in the least concerned about my husbands presence. I ran & got the camera & went out there. I observed for a bit & the ZLW still remained calmly & beautifully. I brought the camera up & darn it! the minute it saw that lens it refused to stay still. In 1996 the ZLW was named our state butterfly.

I checked the photos to see if this was the very same American Painted Lady that I posted the other day but the damage to the wings does not match up so this has to be a different one. I couldn't catch it with it's wings open.

I am a strong believer in the simple fact is that what matters in this life is how we treat others. I think that's what living is all about. Not what I've done in my life but how I've treated others. ~~ Sharon Brown

This guy was very tattered as you can clearly seen, but the colors and the wing eyes are incredible. Anyone know what kind of moth this is?
