Of course you can! This very post by Clint was my inspiration to just do it!

Decent plants are so hard to come by where we live now, especially nice shrubs, so I need to try this soon! I've got amazing lilacs that I'd love to have many more of, as well as a few other shrubs! Since I can't find any to buy, and I am not a big fan of mail ordering shrubs, I need to do this!

Update: Here are some more success stories with the EZ Clone:

Cuphea

Thumb of 2014-08-16/clintbrown/4c1c8e

Phlox 'Minnie Pearl'
Thumb of 2014-08-16/clintbrown/fbc26b

So far all of my Phlox cuttings have taken in this machine. It seems to be excellent for them and hardy Hibiscus. Cuphea seems to love it too.

Clint, are you using Clonex on every thing? I have tried a few cuttings without and it seems to take longer for the roots. Those Phlox look wonderful.

I left it a few weeks. I like to let these get good roots before planting them out.

Eupatorium fortunei ‘Pink Frost’ (variegated Japanese Joe Pye Weed.) I had to soak this one in water occasionally and mist it more than the other plants. I really wanted this one to root so I really observed it 2 times per day to see if it was ok. If you keep your eye on the cuttings, you can root almost anything. Some plants are more difficult and just need more attention. I even cut the end of the stems slightly if the end doesn't look healthy. I have saved many cuttings by doing that! Hardening them off after rooting is important. I pot them up and leave them in the same lighting for a few days before increasing the light.

Looks good. Love the ‘Pink Frost’ variegated Japanese Joe Pye Weed, didn't know there was one like that. I will have to look for that in the spring
