Thanks, Jim. I am not sure how long the flower on that Anguloa lasts, I forgot. But now I will pay attention.....

Lovely flowers on that Stenocoryne, and a luscious mango color too! I hope to get another Jungle Eyes some time, it was my one casualty last summer. So sweet.

We are having a second round of heavy rain and thunder right now. I had to go out and cover the orchids, they've had enough of a douse for one day!

Forgot to say congrats on your lovely David Sander, Ursula. You sure earned that bloom, nurturing the plant for 9 years!

Mine has been open since July 16th, and is just winding down now, so they seem to be very long lasting flowers, too. Such a treat!

Oh how I will love it when mine blooms (no spikes in sight). I bought a Hab. erichmichaelii x medusa on ebay and it came today looking small but healthy. Can't wait to see it spike and bloom. I also have Hab. Light Wings (rhodocheila x medusa) and Hab. medusa growing nicely.

Wish I could find an Anguloa Dubia.

I also got 'David Sander' from Oak Hills, and almost lost it to rot! I picked out every bit of the moss, and it has put out two new growths, so I hope I will live long enough to see a bloom on it.
That Anguloa dubuia is interesting...I'll have to look it up!
We have a local show opening tomorrow. I'm going, but not wearing my buying shoes. I haven't checked the vendor list, but it's usually the same old vendors with the same old stuff, and while the weather has been great for growing this year, it hasn't been good for blooms here. Ted probably won't agree, as he is 10 mi. inland, but here in the basin, we're still in "June gloom" mode... no sun before noon. I'm hoping to find potting materials at the show.

Looking great on that 'David Sander' Ursula and Elaine and that Anguloa dubuia and Stenocoryne aureafulvais are really nice. Could be some for the list Smiling

Myrmechea Christian Fun also looking good, Jim

Carol, right on about the June gloom. Gone from here. Probably here at night as it is nice and cool in the evening and through the night. Down to 60 last night.
Lynda and I are going to head to the show after work on Friday.
Now, you know how I have wanted a Euchile citrina. Well Andy is bringing one. Can't wait.
Cal-West supply is scheduled to be there, so you should be able to get that potting stuff. I counted about 50 vendors on the list. Andy, Santa Barbara Estates, Cal Orchid. You're right. The usual. I am looking forward to Birdrock for there Tilly's.

Regarding the Anguloa Dubia - I bought it some years ago from Oak Hill Gardens and it is listed as a natural hybrid of Anguloa uniflora x Anguloa clowesii.

Kathy, those medusa hybrids sound really interesting! Thumbs up

50 vendors and you say "the usual"? Hilarious! Are you kidding? Rolling on the floor laughing

This is the first time this show is being put on for a second time in one year. It is on in Feb every year so this is a test. 'Usually' means the same group that is here in Feb and usually at the other shows. Does sound kind of strange though. Hilarious!

Oh I understand, but I couldn't possibly imagine the vendors bringing always the same stuff along. Something else has to be in bloom and entice you?

Just looked at the vendor list! Impressive! I would be polishing tall boots by now.....

I think the venue may be part of the problem. Many of the regulars didn't come to the spring garden show. It will be a challenge for them to get here now with freeway closures at both ends of the county. You're right, Ursula, and this is billed as Orchids and exotic plants, so maybe there will be a better selection.

Funny! I just got a call from Andy's asking me if I had received my orchid (yes, back in June) and if everything was alright and if I had any questions!

My Lc Jungle Eyes has now all three buds open, I managed to get some pictures between a few good downpours this afternoon.

Hilarious! Jim your best revenge - much better than a punch in the snoot - would be for Ted and Carol to tell Andy "Jim's online orchid buddies aren't buying any orchids from you until you refund his money for the dead Habenaria". Hit him where it really hurts. nodding

Doesn't Jungle Eyes have gorgeous big flowers for such a tiny little plant?

Maybe they seem to bring the same things because it is always in Feb. with the same plants blooming at that time of the year. This should be interesting.

I don't think Andy will be there personally. There is a reptile show at the LA Fairgrounds the same weekend and he is selling there as well. But I think he spends more time looking at the other vendors as a buyer at that show.
