I would think the original poster has it upside-down? If you are asking what one would do with a greenhouse, you don't really need a greenhouse. If you are busting out of your seams collecting/growing plants which would never survive in your climate zone and/ or you are an avid gardner/(professional )grower and you need/wish to give your plants a head start in the Spring, you will ask for a greenhouse because you need one.

Something like that? Smiling

I too have a 6x8 Harbor Freight greenhouse, I use it to overwinter many tropicals that won't survive our harsh Oklahoma winters, plus my house is just too dark to grow many plants successfully. I too used bubblewrap on the sides as well as the ends. For the front entry & sides & roof I used clear bubblewrap, & then I used a silver reflective wrap for the north wall were I also have a natural gas heater installed. Use a fan to circulate the air & have never had a problem usually keep the thermostat set on 1 maybe 2 at the most. I also use a black shade cloth to keep things from getting too hot. I absolutely love mine & am giving serious consideration to buying another to possibly see about adding on to the front of mine. I got mine from a Harbor Freight store in Tulsa, using a sale coupon I got off eBay for a couple of bucks & ended up paying around $270 for it.. I am sure it would have been higher had I paid for shipping, but it was only an hour and a half drive that I make often anyway. Oh yes wanted to mention too that the bubblewrap is held in place by little plastic clips that snap into the rails that make up the roof, these also double as plant hangers. Perhaps I can post a pic later.

I have a lot of zone 8 plants that won't survive a zone 8 Winter mainly because we always have a few instances (like the last few days) of what's definitely not zone 8 Winter temps and keep them in what I call my iffy greenhouse .. it contains all the zone 8 plants of which half wouldn't survive like elephant ears, passiflora, banana, brugmansia etc. the teens and single digit temps - plus it gives them a jump start when the temps start to warm up in the Spring. Love my babies too much to take any chances.

Well here are some pics of my Harbor Freight Greenhouse.

Thumb of 2014-01-10/RickRickman/7af344

This picture shows both types of bubblewrap, the silver came from Lowe's.
The clear came from a GH supply store online, you can see there is a bit of
an overlap in the center, however, it is one continuous piece from top to
bottom, held in place by the black plastic clips which you press through,
then turn a quarter turn and lock in place. As I mentioned these double as
hangers for baskets. Was going to post another pic of this, but my camera
battery just died. Enjoy.

Very nice, Rick. Where did you get the black clips that secure the bubble wrap? I agree

Thanks Cheryl,
it has been a couple of years ago, but I believe I got them here:
www.littlegreenhouse.com
there is a tab on the left, under supplies, then click on Plastic Covering

If you only need the clips, you can also Google them, they may also be on Ebay.
I bought both the bubblewraa & clips from the same source. Hope this helps.

This unique twinwall bubble insulation can drastically reduce your greenhouse heating costs by as much as 45%. In addition to saving you money during the cool seasons, it will also help prevent overheating during the hot summer months. This unique bubble is only 3/16" thick but provides 15% more insulation than other bubble over twice as thick because of the extra outer layer that traps more air inside. So I designed and built a 4-season greenhouse. Just picked tomatoes on Christmas day for the tenth year in a row.

Yep, greenhouses open up vistas of growing that otherwise could never be done, Chip. I had three greenhouses when I lived in Mississippi, but now that I'm in Vero Beach, FL, I have only an open shadehouse (for my orchids and germinating seeds).

Welcome to NGA @farsdj Smiling

I'm not really clear about what exactly it is that you are looking for - "greenhouse nylon" ? (Something may have been lost in translation?)

It would probably be best if you started a new thread in this forum to ask your question, as you have added to an old thread about a different topic.

Very nice greenhouse! Nice that you have supplemental heat and keep things going all winter! I assume that the solar panel provides the energy needed to keep things warm in there?
