My hibiscus season is off and running, too.

Summerific Holy Grail


Summer Spice Plum Flambe -- that one petal in the 1st pic didn't have a color break. It was folded over and the part underneath was paler.



Cordial Cherry Brandy -- this one always captures as too light and a smidge too blue. It really is just bright red.

Today brought first blooms of the season on Summer Spice Creme de la Creme -- check out all the buds on that second one.



I had a TEMPORARY mystery hibiscus, one with a tab I wrote out with Sharpie instead of a china marker. It bloomed for the first time today, and it's Summerific Berry Awesome.


Hibiscus dasycalyx started blooming today...the blooms are small, but the bees love them.


Holy Grail bloomed, in the shade til I repot like the former mystery hibiscus. Such a great red.


Hibiscus laevis continues to bloom...


As does Summerific Perfect Storm...


So many buds!


Kopper King started blooming today too, but both blooms (different plants) had a weird pseudo-petals wrapped around the pistils.


This year's champ is Cordial Cherry Brandy. I wish I could say I loved this one as much as it deserves, but the flowers tend to "cup" a lot and I'm just not a fan of that red. It IS pretty stunning, though.



Oh...and Summer Spice Plum Flambe is still going, too.

I don't have Cordial Cherry Brandy anymore, and I won't be replacing it. I never cared for the cup shaped flowers either, although I did like their color.

Amaretto has the promised coral tones compared with the pink pinks, but only when it is really hot.

I'm mainly a photographer, I love to take decent pics, and I have been blessed to be able to take photos of Dianas garden. I don't know the names, as I'm not a horticulturist, or even a Botanist. But I love beauty, as do you all.
