It lived for two years in the ground…. I was reading through Farmers Almanac last Winter that it would be cold and wet, so I took a couple of cuttings and am glad I did. The stem succumbed to the horrible weather. Down there in the "Tropics" though it should do fine. I plan on planting one again next Spring 2015. Hopefully it will be 20+ yrs. again, till we have another Winter like this past.

Yep, I do plan to put it in the ground, probably this fall. If I don't it will be crawling down into the pool.

I love those flowers! Guess that's why they call it Pastazanum, huh? Like tomato sauce on pasta.

Good thing you sent me a cutting, Drew. If you lose it, my plant will be your 'insurance' and I'll just send you a new one.

Wah, my flowers aren't quite as red-and-white as yours are, Drew.

Looks like my plant is telling me what it thinks of my treatment over the winter. First I amputated it and sent a piece to Mj, then I neglected it and let it get cold (well, I did give it a blankie last week when we went down into the 30's).

I'm finding a nice spot for it in the foliage border under the big oak tree. It's surely outgrown its pot.
