That's why it's helpful to find the entry first so you make sure you have the correct one. There are several roses that have the same name so it's best to find the correct one with either the URL or ID#. I have also had to edit incorrectly spelled plants so personally I don't like just typing in a name. (unless it's just a generic label because you don't know the cultivar) The copy /paste method eliminates any chance of errors.

Evan....look at my picture of a Japanese Maple and several Hosta currently seen on the multi-plant screen. I tagged all of the Hosta but only one name appears. Help me to understand what the problem is. Probably obvious but I can't figure it out

You are typing in the names Paul, as I wrote above, it leaves it open for spelling errors. In the case of the Hosta Montana, it's misspelled. Hosta (Hosta sieboldiana var. sieboldiana 'Aureomarginata') Not sure why the other two aren't linked, could be an extra space in the typing or something.

I just looked at a previous one containing Krossa Regal and Great Expectations and they do not show that they have been tagged while Antioch is tagged.
Sue is right. Just typing in the name is helpful, but it won't result in a link to the database. The only way to get the database link to work is to put either the Plant ID or the Link/URL to the plant page.

But I am trying that now instead of typing. Instead of typing in Early Girl for a tomato I tried coping the plant ID. Then all that shows up as a caption is a number. No one will know what it is from a number. I am with Paul and am co confused. Actually I am more confused. last night I just typed things in and then Sue had to fix them for me.
So I thought I knew what I should do instead but I don't!
Rita, I think (it's been a while since I've done one) that you'll only see the actual description after you close the Image set and then go back to look at it.
Confidence is that feeling you have right before you do something really stupid.
I had messed it up. It is the newest image sets image there of tomatoes. But I went back and edited it. I took out the old boxes, put in new ones and pasted the plant ID number. It looks like it worked now,

It sounds like if someone was doing their first multi-plant photo who had not read this thread and just followed the instructions on tagging the plants would not expect to be successful. They would not be aware of ID numbers or cutting or pasting, etc. Guess I will just leave this to others.
Paul, just copy the plant's URL address and paste it into the box. It's much easier than typing the name of the plant or the plant ID# and there's no possibility of misspelling the names or typing the numbers in the wrong sequence.

Like anything else on a computer. You work it, monkey with it a bit, work it some more.
Then go back and read Dave's instructions again, more carefully.

Dave's instructions were in the first post when he first announced this feature http://garden.org/thread/view_....
I never type anything, URL, ATP BB Code or Plant ID#, it's always a copy and paste.
Do you need tips on doing the copy/paste function?
I would like to see a chart for how many image sets when viewing stats. You know the link that tells you view more stats and the top 25 in four categories come up. Now that we have the multi plant picture feature we need a stat box for top contributions of those also. Like we do the others.
