I have not been on the forum lately - too overwhelmed with life (nothing bad, just the usual - too much to do, not enough time) right now, but over the past week or so I did snap these photos:

Jan- Very nice blooms. I, too, have some reblooms in my garden. It truly is amazing that on Oct.1st, I still have plants blooming, especially as I have been working feverishly to prepare the gardens for Winter, which is not too far off. With early morning temps in the 40's, the bloom colors are a bit washed out but, hey, I really can't fault this after 3 months of blooming. It is also Peak Fall Foliage on the mountain. Eye Candy.

Beautiful! I remember so well the year we went to New England for the fall foliage, and it was absolutely breathtaking! And your blooms look fantastic!

Thank-you, Betty. I have lived in Vermont for 47 yrs., and never ever get tired of the change of the leaves. It is a kaleidoscope of enormous beauty. Those bright orange leaves are from the Sugar Maples. The same trees are tapped in the early Spring for their sap which is then boiled down to produce Maple Syrup. It takes 40 gallons of sap to make just 1 gallon of syrup. It really is nectar of the gods...yum, and full of natural B vitamins!



From My Deck Looking Back Over the Roof of My House

I was looking at an early post here by Cynthia referring to the selloff of Isabel Hibbard's daylilies. Hibbard apparently specialised in late flowering cultivars. I was interested in this. (AHS returns 114 of hers). However, I am surprised to find only one accompanying picture in the ATP database so far. May be I'll find more. She must not have been popular - that lateness, though very desired, doesn't maketh the daylily.

Glen, I believe in time when NYRita is caught up she will post some of her pics. I would like to add some of hers to my garden also. They are very hard to find.
@ Char, you could put her on your list for up coming hybridizer of the week. Maybe we can entice some more postings of her pictures.
