Mark, here is your above link: http://Sempervivum.aforumfree....
And this is a link to the source of verification of botanical names this site uses:

Hope this is helpful.

I have a question about Heuffelii. Has it been moved into Sempervivum. I am aware that what we used to call Jovibarba is now Sempervivum globifferum (sp?). What is now the correct name for what I have been calling Heuffelii? Thanks I tip my hat to you.

I have to arrange this in my mind on how to explain it to people that don't know about sempervivum, the fact the the globiferum types and heufelli grow differently from the other types of semps.

So, I was browsing through our database and comparing it with Sempervivum-Liste and I discovered a "problem".
It seems that 'Bandaris' and 'Brandaris' are TWO separate cultivars.
http://www.sempervivum-liste.d...
Apparently 'Brandaris' is the one hybridized by Versteeg and 'Bandaris' is a cultivar of unknown origin.

I think we should split our entry into two entries, one for each cultivar.

I think perhaps, the listing in the NGA database is merely a misspelling of the cultivar name (the "r" omitted), both databases list Versteeg as the hybridizer, and both give the historical note "History of species or cultivar: Named after the lighthouse on St. Brandaris the Frisian island of Terschelling, built in 1593"

I agree but I was worried the entry may include pictures of the two different cultivars.

Nice catch on 'Bandaris'/Brandaris Angelo.
I do think Mark is correct. I think somewhere along the line the 'r' was dropped unintentionally here in the U.S.
I compared the photos from both databases and attributes seem to match.
Mine originally came from SMG many years ago. It seems all the U.S. suppliers spell it 'Bandaris'.
Angelo, you can make the name change to 'Brandaris'.
