Is that its name? What an awesome daylily! You might have to start a waiting list for purchasing that one -- and I think my name should be right at the top -- or maybe in the top five? Hurray!

The name for the first UF has already been sellected as LILLIAN'S VAPOR TRAIL from names summited last year. There was no contest for this one, we just new this name really fit the daylily when we saw it. We have already contacted the person who summited the name and I will ship her a couple of fans next spring. There will be name games this fall, after we decide what will be registered.
Kim it has lots of buds, haven't counted them yet, but its well branched and also reblooms.

Been in the 40s at night here so I haven't taken many photos but yesterday all three of the dip sibs were blooming together and the weather doesn't effect them much so I got a photo of the last one. Now I have to make a decision before fall as what I am going to do with the two that I haven't made my mind up. This is the one you haven't seen, I didn't take any measurements yesterday but its large and tall and the photo was taken just before sundown so I don't think it's as white as it shows.Thumb of 2011-05-18/spunky1/5d00b8 It doesn't have the bud count and branching of this one.
Thumb of 2011-05-18/spunky1/f87a26 This one has lots of branching and buds but I don't know about the color.

That middle one is a show-stopper -- is that LILLIAN'S VAPOR TRAIL? But the others really look great too. Maybe you could introduce one per year if you don't want to introduce them at the same time.

They are all nice and the last one I would introduce with something indicating cream since it is not a stark white. Or maybe Green Banana's. Just a thought.

Fred, the other name you talked about; was it for one of these? I definitely have to have LILLIAN'S VAPOR TRAILS. If you sell out I know where I can go dig up a few fans from Whistling Whistling Whistling

Thanks for the comments and the ideas. Tink the other name was suppose to be one of these, but I may have to save it for another time. I will watch #2 (the top photo, the middle one is LVT) on rebloom and see if the branching and bud count gets any better, its the only possible one that could receive the name this year. I looked at it again yesterday about 11:30 and I think its whiter than Vapor Trail. Will try to get some more photos of it soon. Been so busy this week I have let my son do the hybridizing for me. Have to dig some plants for the show sales table this afternoon and go to Mobile tomorrow afternoon to set up the show for Saturday, then do the Pensacola show Sunday. To much going on in May and June for an old man.

For Kathleen's sake I keep busy to stay out of the house. This is a seedling I planted late in 09 along with 500 others and they are finally blooming. Thumb of 2011-05-20/spunky1/f0281c Another 18 month

The extra stuff in the center is edged the same color as the eye, there's four of whatever that is in the center, the petals are much higher than the sepals. This was one of my faveriot seedlings last year but I never noticed all this extra stuff in the center. It has done this on the every bloom so far this year. This is the photo from last year, only a small amount of extra stuff in the center. Thumb of 2011-05-24/spunky1/49f78b

Fred, I love it! So unusual, great color, and I think it is attractive. The middle reminds me of a carnation -- so why not? I dearly love that seedling with or without the flounces!
