Pam, those are some of the biggest/best I've seen, awesome! I like the color of the flowers in the last pic best, but the middle pic is the just amazing.

The plants shown so far are just lovely. Here are a few of my blooms, all noids that I've collected over the years, on sale at HD or Lowes. The 1st picture shows my collection. They've been living in the basement by the window for the past 2 years. These plants survive, despite my neglect.

Thanks David and Sheryl Smiling

Sheryl, these plants have not been taken outside for the past 2 years. I barely remember to water them in the summer because I go for weeks at a time without going into the basement. The other tropical plants and epies take up most of the room outside, so there's not much room for the Schlums. Also, they were not fertilized this year. They really do survive despite me, they are such resilient plants. If I took better care of them, I'm sure they would be more lush.

I love Pam's presentation of her plants, I think I'm going to pot up and combine some of the smaller plants into larger hanging baskets.

Can anyone recommend a good soil mix for potting these plants? For my epies, I use potting soil mixed with Perlite, composted manure, and fine bark, would this mix also work for Schlumbergera?

Thanks for the Epi recipe - I would have thought that was too water retentive, yet I need something that doesn't have me watering every day (tough order, in Phoenix!). I am *very* new to Epis.

Trust me, Annette - they look great despite your claims! Thumbs up

Sheryl-- some people just use straight bark mixes like an orchid mix. I tend to plant in a mostly heavy mixture because I am a bad waterer. So I'd play with it and see what works best for you Smiling

Thanks, Julianna! I do have some orchid mix around here, but I'm afraid it might get too dry, too quick... ? Over watering in Phoenix is usually not an issue - for me, at least!

Beautiful sunset, BTW. Lovey dubby

I'm loving all of these wonderful photo's of y'alls Holiday Cactus! I used to have quite a few plants but most have perished due to my lack of care over the years. The only ones remaining in my collection are a large one currently in bud that will hopefully open soon, another one blooming it's head off and a couple of small ones from cuttings that have a few buds.

Hello
You all have beautiful plants. Mine is still in bud but one is very close to blooming. I'm looking for a peach one to add to my home. Does anyone do trades? I have plenty of different plants that I can take cuttings from. I really want a peach one but I don't have money right now. I have blue crown passiflora, wax begonia, African violet (pink frilly) and a ever grace space African Violet, and starfish cactus. All of my plants are going to be from cuttings. I was wondering if I could add Christmas cactus cuttings to my potted Jasmine?

Hi Gothicgardener, you might want to post your request for a trade over on the plant and seed trading forum: http://garden.org/forums/view/... to see if anyone has a peach colored holiday cactus or cuttings for trade.

I wouldn't advise planting a holiday cactus in the same container as jasmine; they require totally different conditions. Jasmine prefer a lot of sun while the holiday cactus requires shade and high humidity.
