I received this plant from Doris earlier this year and it has settled in quite well. This is the first of its blooms. Thanks again, Doris! - Arlan

Hi, Chef Mike! Who is offering the blue/purple plant? I don't know that the colors are made yet. There are lots of bad guys selling using doctored photos. (grr, grr, says the skeptic)

COCONUT IF I MAY CORRECT YOU THE REASON I GOT BANNED FROM THE SITE IS AS FALLOWS AND I QUOTE YOU SEE I EMAILED ABOUT THIS SITE!

Dear Mike,

You recently sent out about 40 dmails to promote your new website, AllThingsPlants.com

While we wish you success on your new site and endeavours, our site rules are very clear: http://davesgarden.com/aboutus...

“5. We hate spam, and so do our members. You may not utilize the service to create business opportunities without contacting us first and getting permission. Members are restricted from utilizing the DG services for self-promotion of themselves, their website, or their organization, or to solicit items or monies for charities or fundraisers. This includes, but is not limited to, advertising products or services in any communication medium such as the forums and the member E-mail system. As of July 6, 2006, members may promote their ventures in our classified advertising area. Non-vendor members may organize group purchases ("co-ops") only in the forum made for this purpose. Vendors of live gardening-related materials are expressly prohibited from organizing co-ops.”

We have been over these rules with you before: we do not allow members to use our forums or dmail to promote their own website or to steer people to another site, whether it is personal or for profit. Further, we do not permit vendors to organize their own co-ops on our site.

Since we made our position to you very clear last April, and you agreed to abide by the site rules, we were disappointed to be informed you had once again engaged in spamming your fellow members. We feel we have no choice but to terminate your account due to your repeated abuse of your membership privileges.

Regards,

Terry

Yes, that DG is hanging themselves. The ads are ~really~ annoying. But I go look at the joke forum, as you can read the first post, teehee.

And, yes, those surely are nicely rooted cuttings.

Have fun when you can,

Some of you will remember the plants we cut off and set on cd's to force the roots sideways. Here are the two I started. The Obesum is doing well but the roots do need training. The Arabicum is ready for last rites.

JT, I also started one on a cd a few weeks ago. So far, mine is just sitting there, although it seems to be putting out new buds. How long was yours planted before you could see the roots?

We have been getting rains, I'm not complaining but I do beleive I may have to move my Desert Roses into the little Greenhouse til it slows down a bit. They are looking so pretty tho. guess I wasn't watering them enough.
JT love the look of that baby....But sure don't see any roots.... Confused

Hi everybody. you may remember me from my unsuccessful attempts at starting seeds. I am thinking of trying an adenium from the coop. Are there any particular varieties that people recommend for a beginner? I assume that the "common varieties" may have stood the test of time. Are the ones with variegated leaves as vigorous as the standard ones? Sometimes other plants with variegated leaves are weaker growers.

You are very brave to try cutting the plant and growing it over the cd. I guess it is similar to bonsais. I am not good at plant restraint, but I am getting braver about pruning and cutting things back..
