Out in the OC, there has not been too much going on. December is a slow month but there are a few and this is what I found.
First up is Aliceara Sunday Best X Rst. bictoniense. OrchidWiz does not show this as being a registered cross but I like it anyway.
Then a troop of Dancing Ladies came through:
Yet another flower on my Psychopsis Mendenhall 'Hildos'. It out did itself this time as this is the largest Psychopsis flower I have seen.
The Blc. Chia Lin 'New City' X Pot. Susan Fender 'Cinnamon Stick', AM/AOS (aka. Pot. Linda Mathisen) has put out another spike with two blooms which are large and fragrant.
While poking around the OC, I discovered I have two Epc. Rene Marques 'Tyler' orchids. I showed the first one the other day and here is the second just opening.
And Bepi. Sylvia White is blooming.
What better way to finish up the year that taking a final look at Cattleya maxima. This orchid is just stunning.

I am seeing temperatures forecast for my area for Friday - yikes!!!!! low temp 0/zero degr F!! I think I better throw some more leaves on my Calanthe Kozu and my Bletillas! Haven't seen that low of a temperature here in some years.
I just pulled up our 7 day forcast and we get a 43 degree low on Friday. Everything else 70s for highs and mid to high 50s for lows.
Thanks for the kind words, guys. I'm expecting my Schomburgkia undulata and its 5 foot spike to open on New Years day. I'm wishing all of my orchid buddies a very happy new year. Blessings and stay safe.

Same here, happy happy all`! Can't wait to see the Schomburgkia in bloom Jim.
We are staying home and babysitting. Hope you'll all excuse pictures of our only granddaughter, Mallory - we think she's going to be a gardener. Although she was not keen on the taste of the sand. Also her first experience with shoes - I have gravel driveways and paths all around the house so . . . from me she got Crocs for Xmas. She kept them on for at least 20 minutes!!
Lc. Renate in her glory, and two more spikes opening.

Awwww, cute granddaughter! Those Crocs are great! Lc Renate isn't to shabby either!
We lost power for a couple of minutes here, I was holding my breath….. but it came back on and looks to be ok now, no need for the generator. It seemed there was a fire on the other end of town.
Sorry to see it go too, but there is always time for a new and fresh year with lots of posts and nice discussions and above all, filled with friends sharing our favorite hobby, Orchids!
