I got this Haworthia emelyae in mid March last year, divided it and repotted, but this half has been extremely temperamental, thought I was going to lose it as it continued to dry out and lose its vigor. As the autumn weather came then our early rains in December, it started to revive and with our cool and dry winter, it is now fully recovered.

Looking so dismal in Oct 2014:


This January 2015 a grand recovery woohoo!



The other half of this plant, never lost a beat during repot, I guess it liked the location I have placed it better:

Thanks Angela always teaching me never give up on the succulents...still green somewhere, with patience and care, it will return.

Then their is hope for mine I still have some green I was letting the bottom dry out since it was rotting.

Oh yes, I see real hope in your plants! I notice now with my Haws, they are truly enjoying our cool dry temps. All my haws are outdoors. But it has been one extremely dry January here too..too dry..but the succulents are thriving. We did have several days of dense fog, other than that no precipitation of any sort. The succulents are happy.

Angela, maybe we can do a plant trade once the weather is warm enough to safely mail things (without a heat pack, I'm too lazy to buy them so only like to ship when its warm enough )
Jmorth your haw looks great! I have that one, but its smaller and with many offsets!
Most of my haws are etoliating a bit, I've cut way back on their water and increased their light and that seems to help, but they are now having to recover from being slightly misshapen I'll post a photo soon~

Here's an update on my plants. Hybrids to see what I can come up with.


Also my hybrid Aloes. This time of year they all turned a dark purple. Strange because they were a nice mix of green, white, yellow and red.

Haworthia cuspidata truly enjoying our cool foggy days..getting bigger and very plump

Here are some Haworthias I thought I had killed...so I Just plopped them in the ground and said, "Good luck guys..." and they took off! They were either rotten or shriveled up and I decided, I hate haworthias But I've changed my mind! I'm impressed with these tough little beauties and have since gotten more!

I have been known to threaten to let old man winter have his way with some and they perk up. If any plant is looking out my windows now they surely do not want to go out and try to survive the cold and foot of snow out there now,

Kate I stuck mine in some soil and put them where I can't see them when I walk by probably what it wanted all along I hope by spring they come back.

Angela, exactly!!!! I agree....sometimes just leaving them alone and letting go of the worry is all they really need.

I received my new haworthia resendeana (its purple, has some offshoots coming up and its swirly!! cute!!)
