I would love to attend a couple RU's, but an address would let me google map so I know exactly where I am going. I have a few gardening friends who might like to attend as well. I have lots of plants to trade. I also have lots of plants that I would like to try that are more common here in Fl. Many of my trades are TX plants that not only survive here, but they do even better here than they did in TX.

I've moved the RU info to it's own thread so everyone can share info if needed.

Wasn't sure where to post this. If the moderator prefers to make a new thread here, I understand. We are traveling from Missouri to Ft. Myers, FL and are hoping the Florida gardeners at ATP will share information about good gardens, garden centers, and nurseries to visit in the Ft. Myers area. Thanks so much for your help.

Why don't you cross post it in the Chat Forum. We're a loose bunch here.

Hi Ann, it is Gigi here, I love the first glad too, I believe it is the 1st time this bloomed for me. The bulbs were clearance bulbs I purchased from Walmart. I was so glad it I found the name in the gladiolus data base Gladiolus (Gladiolus x gandavensis 'Wine and Roses').

My glads are planted together and I can never tell, which ones would come back and which ones would produce more bulbs. So I replenish them every late summer or fall. Glads are one of my favorites because they make beautiful cut flowers. I made this bouquet today to bring to work tomorrow:

Not a problem:), wish I have Hetty's vast plumeria selection. My DH is putting a clamp on me buying more plants especially because he is redoing the front yard.

I've been too busy stuffing myself with litchees. This is the first year my tree has produced more than a couple of fruit and I am totally addicted to them for the short time they are available. Otherwise, everything is growing great. I am attempting my first air layer on my litchee and a couple of other hard to propagate bushes. My onions I planted earlier in the year will be ready to harvest soon. I have some beans plants but had to pick off the early bloom because they are only about 8 inches tall and I want to get more height on them before allowing them to bloom. I started a couple different type of lettuce in pots but will be moving them to a shaded area as they are already wilting in the afternoon sun. I'll go out later and take some pics.

you are just down the road from me, I should meet up with you to learn what to grow in FL. When I moved from my home state 30 years ago I wasn't a gardener, and now that I'm back, I can't figure out what works, I sure know what doesn't....LOL
Blessings to you,
Jan
