I'm guessing you bought Coleus plugs to make up for what Jack Frost consumed. Big Grin

I'm going to put 3 plugs to a 3-gal. pot, wait a few months, and sell them at neighborhood yard sales. I may also put a bunch around the yard.

I'm getting 105 each of meandering linda, lord valtimort, and alabama ss.........................

I'm trying to get my stuff organized and cleaned up after the freeze so I can get inspected and sell legally to the local area.

I'm not planning to get that involved--just put an ad in the pennysaver and do a driveway sale or two---

unless it goes over really well--then I'll do the whole license thing and get more

Don't want to rain on your parade but to be legit, you are required to be licensed and inspected to sell plants to the public. Whether you get caught or not is another story. Rolling on the floor laughing

well, all I know is that every summer around here in this neighborhood, people sell all kinds of plants..and its just included in your typical garage sale stuff

I have to be inspected to sell plants to the public??? These are plants that I bought FROM the public..they're just a little bigger than before Rolling on the floor laughing

Technically, yes. Do people do it without? Yep. Lots & Lots. Usually the garage salers aren't bothered as it's a one time thing but there have been people on Craigslist that have been ratted out by ticked off nursery or licensed landscapers who feel people who sell off the grid are taking from their business and usually without any overhead or paying taxes on the sales. The inspection is to help prevent the spread of disease and insects that non professionals may spread just through ignorance.

Most of the newer named varieties are "Sun Coleus". The wizard and carefree varieties are shade loving.
I grow 100s most years and have never had any burned sun coleus. They do like water. I give them about three 5 min showers a day.
The picture on the top of the Coleus Forum on dg is mine from around 2004.
I have over 100 varieties coming in the next few weeks.

Coleus are easy to swipe.
Just see them in a flower bed outside at the local restaurant.
Bend over them and say,
Oh what beatiful flowers!
Woops, that little piece just broke off.
Oh the poor thing,
I'll just take the thing home,
and hope it doesn't die...
Rolling my eyes.

GG they look wonderful. I cannot believe how great you did with your greenhouse and how many survived after the temps we were having. Congrats!

John that's funny!

I am starting mine from seed this year. They are doing pretty good so far. I hope the grow quick. When do you start feeding them?

what the h---- was I thinking?? Just re-potted 315 plugs-which makes 18--18cell trays. I'm beat...

I was going to put 3 in a 3 gallon pot and sell later.--well. that would be 100 POTS (you idiot!)
so for now I took them out of the little plug trays and into something a little bigger
will start searching for more 3-gal containers--I've got about 50
