Thank you, Bob. The best part is that all of the snow is at higher elevations. I don't have to shovel any of the stuff ... Hilarious!

We got almost two inches then it rained all night and washed it away. Now we are at 42° seems like a spring day to me. LOL. Green Grin!

It depended on which channel on TV one watched as to how much snow they said was coming. Weather channel said 3 inches. Local NY stations saying 6-10 depending on which one was watched. Think the Long Island Channel said 8 inches. They said it would start after 3 AM. it stated already by midnight. Just keeps coming down. I have never seen so much snow. We already had snow on the ground now we have more snow on top. All I see out my window is tons of snow.

Oh, Rita ... that must be very discouraging .. Lovey dubby

All I get to see is weeds jumping up out of the mud. They may be green, but there isn't a thing I can do about them except watch them grow.

All last nights totals where wrong. News at noon said 12-13 and a half for various towns around Long Island SO FAR!!! Going to keep going till Friday morning. Some rain during the day, then changes back to snow.

I have never seen a winter here like this one. Yes, we have had big snows but then it turns warmer and melts. This year cold and not melting and just more snow coming. I am about ready to move to Florida! Grumbling

Your beautiful spring bulbs would have a hard time of it in Florida Rita.
It is unanimous,this is the worst winter in 20 years.
This is a winter I remember.1966.

It came down fast here and the size of the flakes were quite amazing - the size of silver dollars. Now it's sleet but will return to snow tonight. My best guess is that we got 5 to 6" and it can't leave fast enough.

Last night I did go out the back door to feed the birds. Now I can't even see my footprints. Spring just seems so far away today. We were here 20 years ago and yet I don't recall it being a winter like this - might be snow amnesia.

Hang on everyone !!!!
I remember this feeling,like I will take the bridge if we get anymore snow.
Then very soon,temps rise but we cant believe it and expect another storm.
BUT NO temps just stay above freezing and the snow is gone in a week.
Still bracing for a bitter few days we are amazed and surprised when the first sedums break ground and tips of tulips appear.
Yes, I am waiting for that, and do feel it will come soon.

@ge1836 ......

If the rains continue, they will help the drought, but at this stage, it's still wishful thinking. The snow pack is still less than 20% of normal.

Yup ... the weeds are going to get big and there will be a lot of them .. Rolling my eyes.

I am waiting for a break in the rain so I can go out and finish planting the Christmas gift bulbs that need to be in the ground. My friend will be very disappointed when she doesn't see them coming up in spring. I am looking forward to the digging in mud and getting soaked again ... not.

Rita ... move to Florida ???? .... they have big bugs and big snakes down there. Are you sure you are ready to deal with those things ?

Smiles,
Lyn

Well, okay not really gonna move. It is just this winter making me think I love in the wrong place. Come spring and summer, I love it here in my garden. And yes, we just don't get this kind of winter.

@ge1836 ........

It took me almost an hour to get up the courage to capture my first roach when I moved to San Diego and it was a little bug compared to what they have in Florida. I am not usually so squeamish, but roaches and snakes get to me. I'd never make it in Florida.

I can deal with most spiders without having to dig deep inside for courage, but I still think they belong outside and not inside, so capturing them can be a challenge.

Rita ... the snow will be gone and you will have your beautiful garden to play in soon .. Group hug

Not grossed out by roaches thou I must admit the ones in Florida are really big!!! I was looking forward to spring as I planted all my bulbs last fall. After this winter, I am really ready for spring and to see my flowers.

I hear the roaches are big enough to carry a sandwich away. Do you know anything about this, the river has rose 18 feet.
