Hard to believe the planter is 20" across. No wonder it was on the ground when photographed?

It looks like there is some of that black weed barrier fabric poking out of the front of Chris's basket. I have a roll that I use for that sort of thing; it is pretty tuff stuff.

Yep, Connie, you're right. Hmmm, I may drag out what's left from covering the front yard and use it in my projects. I had been using window screen on them...

Lynn, the basket has pretty big spaces between the sticks, so Connie is correct - I lined it with black weed barrier cloth. (Very observant Connie & Bev!) Its pretty heavy when wet because its so big. I was originally going to plant different sedums in it and poke some through the sides. It was all set waiting for me to get some time to do that when along came the sieboldii and in it went! I could still always add other sedums to the sides but we'll see.....

Chris that would be pretty too, having sedum growing out of the sides! Thumbs up

I was going through some of the photos I took this last summer. Wish I had taken more. I have fallen in love with this tiny sedum, and this summer I started dropping pieces around the beds so it can add a different texture to the semp beds.

And another S. dasyphyllum that is even smaller, with a different texture and color.

It appears to be the leaves, and they have little thingies sticking out of them. By the Latin name (glanduliferum), I am thinking that maybe they exude something from these appendages??

It means glandular hairs. Which it has plenty of.
Greg, when you come in April I will send some home with you. It is much smaller than my other type of S. dasyphyllum.
Here is a photo of its sweet little blooms.

The leaves on this one shatter at the slightest touch, but luckily many of the fallen leaves will start new plants.

There are a few different S. dasyphyllum, some that are named hybrids? Time of year and growing conditions can change the color.
Were did you get yours Greg?

I got mine at a local nursery here in town, I'll recheck the label, I know I saved it for that one. I did notice how it just seems to fall apart when you touch it (although that doesn't mean its the same plant...I know I gotta get a photo of it maybe tomorrow!!) I tip my hat to you.

Very nice! I have a sedum a little like that one you both have: it came with the NoID semp I bought at an Ithaca nursery 3 years ago. It doesn't seem to shatter, but then I never really tried to pick it up. It has spread on it's own, but just around its original area.

I have a couple of tiny sedums I got this fall to have indoors -- sadly, I don't think they would survive outside. One of them definitely does shatter and spread! Its name was something like "Teeny," and I don't mind having it as a "ground cover" in the pots in my light garden. It's blossoms are much smaller: they look like tiny stars against their green background... Lovey dubby

I love them Bev. I look forward to see your your S. yosemintense this coming year. I haven't seen that one in person yet, so your photos will be wonderful in our ATP database.
