My bed by the driveway with N. Cassata, and the double time tulips are starting to emerge.

All the blooms are just beautiful. I have daffys, crocus, hyacinth, squill and glories of the snow. I am really enjoying the color but I can also see spots that are bare. I would like to plant these spots with the appropriate bulbs but when the time comes to plant new bulbs the existing ones are dormant and I cannot tell exactly where they are. How do you keep track of where your bulbs are planted? What methods do you recommend to mark them?
Thro' all the tumult and the strife I hear the music ringing; It finds an echo in my soul— How can I keep from singing?

Haha--that spot between the house and the sidewalk and the driveway is one little hell-strip where sedum and bulbs are about the only things that survive...

Perfect conditions for Tulips, best for seeing them return well. How long have those been growing there?

I am convinced I killed all my Thomm early spring crocus.Last April I used a weed killer that killed the weeds and any other plant live in the same ground.Bulbs were included as my lily patch in another garden died as well as Oriental poppies.
Ortho Crabbgrass and weed killer isnt Round-up.

Neal, I think this is the third season for the reds, with the sedum--the rock garden is all new last year.

Jo Ann, I accidentally ruined a spot with some brush/vine-killer last year --whoops.

That is powerful stuff and now I know what "selective " means. I have no idea where else I tried to eleminate the dread weeg "Bitter Cress" .
I know plants are late here this year but those blue crocus are no where to be seen.Cloth of Gold is MIA too.

I must have posted in another thread.I sprayed weed killer in the area last spring. It killed everything, including the weeds for which it was intended.

So sorry that happened! Those yellow crocus were lovely.

I don't have Cloth of Gold. I was thinking of getting some at Brent & Beckies. Maybe I will for this fall.
