I get lots of mine by hand-me-down and I am completely befuddled!!!
But when I see a nice picture here, I always try to put it in my want list which is HUGE already!

So many plants, so little yard.... Hilarious!

I will quite often have a name, but I don't follow thru with labeling or if I do they get lost or I know what I have but can't tell them apart.

I have tried SO many types of markers and NONE of them stay put or stay labeled.

THIS year I bought a set of metal stamps - like tool&dye stamps - and will buy some copper flashing from Home Depot to stamp the names on. And whatever perennials I can tie them on to, I will tie them on. The others, I'll put a rock on top of.

Tired of losing track so much! I can't do anything about the ones who com ein nameless but it frustrates me terribly to label the ones I do know and have the labels disappear.

When I have gotten around to actually putting in markers I use the metal eon markers with labels made from a brother p touch label maker. They stay in the ground and the labels are readable even years later.

Even if most people's labels didn't peel off, mine probably would....
Don't have a p touch anyway.

Gorgeous Rita, now I have tulip envy. Your blooms are fantastic! What are the names of the tulips in the last 2 pictures?

They are both Emperor types, I have to look up their names. New last fall so now they should come up year after year.

I am really thrilled with this new-to-me tulip
Thumb of 2014-04-26/dirtdorphins/bb93c3

Clusiana 'Cynthia'
bright, vibrant, almost glows...
fragrant
and the foliage is low and strapy-- much less likely to annoy me as it fades (unlike those big fat leaves of the spent tulips they are planted with)
