Not a chore - - - - - I left the "trench" open for the crocuses in front of where I placed the cobblestone bed border. The tulips (TULIPS!!!!) will go under new topsoil in a freshly refurbished bed I did final prep for today. Most of the rescued bulbs will go in the veg garden space where the soil is nice, soft, and wormy. Most of the co-op bulbs will go in the nice soft wormy soil in the front yard.... I'm all set! And still excited (can you tell??) Hilarious!

Congrats CG--these are fantastic developments and we are all looking forward to seeing your spring rewards nodding Thumbs up

(I often repeat this mantra "This is only an exhibition. This is not a competition." I have seriously considered putting it in my profile thingy so it shows up at the end of my posts but I never do because then I'd have to change it and think about what to put there and my brain wanders off somewhere more demanding...from David Letterman, Re: introduction to Stupid Pet Tricks and Stupid Human Tricks "This is only an exhibition. I like that!
You should put it on there!

I hope to start taking pictures I'm not ashamed to post next spring - the back fence is still an eyesore, but 5x$89 will fix that.

What do you mean, 5x$89? What are you going to do?

Bamboo fencing is $89 per roll at Home Depot and I need 5 of them to cover the thing.

If you haven't already heard this before, a neighbor did me a neighbor favor and put posts back in all plumb, and nailed crosspieces horizontally across that. BUT all I've been able to do so far is use pallets and stuff to cable tie to that to keep the deer out.

I'm ALMOST there!
It's SO much better than it was.
The DEER were in for 2-3 years, been blocked and baffled for 2-3 now.
Just have to pretty it up!

Yes, he was. He was moving away and I drove him around some (I drove a pickup truck) and he returned that favor by fixing my fallen fence! He's gone though.... Sad

Got the crocuses in the ground already!
Was going to wait until Friday and make a day of it, tulips and ALL bulbs and all.
But I stepped outside to do something small & quick, got energized and went for it!
Only a "quick" 3 1/2 hours.

Jill,

I'm glad you've gotten the chance to start planting your bulbs! I look forward to seeing your blooms next spring. It's still too warm here to start planting, and my order won't be coming until mid October.

Happy gardening😁😁

I'm still not Jill.
You probably have never called me Jill before but it happens all the time.

I tried really hard to come up with another user name to avoid the confusion, but as with companion animal naming, I have a creative blind spot. The 5 I've adopted before they already got names have been "Fred" - because I knew I was getting 3 and all I could think of at first was Frick, Frack, and Fred. Fred is the only one that stuck. She was a she. Confused the Spay clinic lady. I named her 2 sisters after the last name of the family I got them from and August, for the month they were born. Now I have "Little Guy" who I was told was full grown when he wasn't. and "Goldman" because he's an orange tabby and after Little Guy, I wanted a more manly name for him.

I remain CritterGarden I am ALL about animals and gardening. There's very little else going on with me..... So there's really no better name for me....

Anyway, @critterologist is a very nice person and I worry I might make some faux pas she'll get blamed for.
But CritterGarden is my username and it's stuck.
I just try to give people a heads up if I know they're thinking of Jill when talking to me.
You can call me critterG if that helps.
Mamajack does and so do several other people.

Peace on ya.
