Gorgeous Siberians Holly! Is the yellow/white one Butter and Sugar? And that pic of the peach Iris with variegated grass(?) behind it is so soft and beautiful!

on March 25th in this thread I posted a question about a bulb that I had given to me and that kept putting up greenery each year but had never bloomed. From my description and picture I could not ID it. It is Sicilian Honey Lily or Nectaroscordum siculum. Its stem came up over four feet with a big bunch of small florets on top. Finally, it has a name..... and a bloom. Smiles

Bonnie, Nectarscordum are on my list for this fall. I didn't realize they could get that tall!

Neal, I have another one growing in a totally shady location and it has not gotten nearly so tall. It pays to be patient. I have had this little one for approximately seven years and this is its first time to bloom. I did not know what it was so did not know what culture it required. when I planted it there was sun in that location but a St. John's Wart has grown to shade it. I will move it this fall. I understand they have fall seeds where the blooms were. I will leave the bloom stalk to see if I get the interesting seeds and perhaps the birds will like them.

Crittergarden, be careful what you ask for. Lol I am not a great photographer but I do take pictures of my blooms. So...... here is what I took.

I took these early before it had filled out. It has more little florets sprouting from the top and forms a full, almost ball. Sorry this is out of focus.

Calin, the smaller one that is growing in almost full shade is not nearly as tall and the stem is not strong and straight. It has been there longer than the big one. I plan to take it up and put it in a sunny location this fall. I hope it will grow tall and straight. I had a serious storm come through here this spring with a lot of hail and wind damage. I lost a lot of spring bloom but this stalk stood. I hope you have good luck with yours. it is a really neat plant.

Calin - I had 15 or 20 of them before a new wooden fence was installed, the fence guys had no respect for plants and wiped out all but 2 of em; of those two, 1 is upright, the other is curvy stemmed and low to the ground.

2015 is going to be more colorful here!!!!!!!!!!
Hurray! Hurray! Hurray!
I can't compete with Rita, but my box of tulips and crocus from Brent and Becky's shipped today!!!!!!!
And I THINK my box from here:
The thread "Allium, Daffodil and Tulip Co-op/Group Buy" in Classifieds and Group Buys forum
is on it's way, too.
BTW I chatted with him yesterday - he still will let people order - or add, like I did.
AND I still have tulips from last year that I haven't seen bloom yet (dug them when they faded - moving them to plant with the others).
AND I have the ones I dug from the abandoned garden of a house that is to be torn down - probably all pink, which I will give away, but still A LOT to look forward to seeing for the first time!

COME ON SPRING!! Hilarious!
