Here is a picture of my white Duranta in bloom. Later in the fall it will be covered with these orange berries.

LOL! Thanks Becky.

So was talking to a friend who found me on facebook and guess what? She's giving me cuttings for a plant I've been wanting for a long time, but was always to expensive to order online. It's called a Dragon Tree Plant. Hylocereus undatus. Hers is in bloom right now. I've attached a picture. After the flower comes a fruit. The fruit is often 6inches long, 2-1/2 inches thick and of either white, red or purple flesh. It is a very sweet juicy fruit that has become very popular around the world. My friend, Dao, is from Thailand, where this grows in great abundance.

Boo, the odds of me getting to that side of town are about as high as you getting to this side of town to pick up that umbrella stand. Go ahead and give it to someone that lives on that side of town :)

Thanks Becky - I would love to have it.

A 6 ft Duranta? In a pot? LOL - guess I'll need a truck to pick it up? And a oucouple of men?

I know you're on the north side of town. C-mail me and I'll see when I can make arrangements to pick it up.

How come you're getting rid of it? I so loved mine!

Ha, ha, indeed. Look what happens when you plant duranta in the ground! I thought this would be a well-behaved plant and the nice folks at Bakers said I could trellis it against the wall. Well... It pulled the trellises off the wall and just kept going. I've cut it nearly to the ground every spring and this is what it looks like next to that 6' wall. Thumb of 2010-09-13/tomatofreak/31e620
