Yea, Mike! Coming from South Bend, naturally most of the family members were White Sox or Cubs fans. I remember when I was about 9 that I got really mad because my mother and uncle wouldn't take me with them to see an early season Cubs game. But I got my revenge. It was soooooo cold that day, they left after the first inning and made it back in time to listen to the rest of the game on the radio at the house.
We are water-logged here. I wish I could send it South for a week or two, since we don't need any more for a while. But, more is on the way for the next two weeks. At least this has made up for the shortage we had last year. I think we may be above normal right now.

Beautiful day here. The heat keeps comming on but Mr. Sawzall is yapping at me again to do more clearing out so I guess I'll just turn off the furnace since Dixie will open the sliding glass door...no point in heating the great outdoors
Each cloud has a silver lineing if only you look for it.

Common Garter Snake (Thamnophis sirtalis). Had thought it was a garden visitor last year, but looking through my photo notes, I see we encountered this one while on a hike in Hollis, New Hampshire last year. There was another one we had in the gardens that we found while eating a frog...I got pics of that somewhere too, perhaps I'll post them later if I can find them.
It's raining here again. I just need a couple of dry days! We need to spray the yellow starthistle. Got part of it done a week or so ago, when it stopped raining for a day, and we need to get the other 3 acres sprayed!
