It has been a messy year so far. Some getting too much rain, others nothing. Wish the rain could be pipelined.

Heard that Buffalo, NY got hammered with about 10" of snow. Small chance of rain later. Ground is still moist. Going up to sixty four today and then the bottom fall out the rest of the week. We will be below normal (53°f) the rest of the week 50, 39, 42 and 50. Not counting today's small chance of rain, three out of the next four have rain in the forecast. I will take that.

Lovely sunny day here today. Supposed to be in the 50's today. It is tempting to go out and start cleaning up the garden but I will wait. Our local Master Gardener had a great article in the paper and he said start garden clean up when the Forsythia's are in bloom, which they are not yet. At that time you can also prune roses and butterfly bushes and put Preen in your beds.

Cindy, don't try to do it all at once. Do a little here a little there. You get the picture. Smiling
I followed your method of leaving the old foliage for the winter. I am going to start removing them this week.

Suppose to be up near 50 here also. Still got while before I can work outside. Still have a couple feet of snow to melt in the yard. The weather this weak should be good for tapping those maple tree for syrup production up here. Might still be early for that.

Maple syrup tapping is in full swing here in New Hampshire. I'm lucky enough to live by one of the local premium syrup makers. He's been out tapping and stringing trees for a couple weeks now.

Have gotten a ton of rain (around 3 inches) in the last 2 days. Some of it turned to sleet/freezing rain this morning but that system will be passed by me around noon. Clear skies in the high 40's/low 50's all the way through the rest of the week. It's definitely starting to feel like a New England spring now.

It's 55 already today. :hearts:

It's supposed to be 50 or so with showers tomorrow and then I leave for San Diego so I don't care what it does!

Mostly gray today, got a dusting of snow over night, temperature dropped by 2 degrees in the last hour, down to 28f, few flakes falling. I was hoping it would be a little warmer so I could get outside and start cleaning up the beds. Sad

We had a small dusting that only sticks on some areas of grass or garden. Nothing on roads or walkways.

It's 65 glorious degrees outside. I was out without a jacket or sweater or whatever for the first time since NOVEMBER! I don't care what is happening later - my hands are going in some dirt. Big Grin

Sunny in the front yard now. Means lots more crocus have appeared and opened out there in that new garden bed.

Tulips coming up in front of daffs here is the trellis garden. I see buds on the daffs finally. Other years I have had those daffs there in full bloom mid March. Not this year!

As much as I love crocuses, I can't believe that I don't have any. Your trellis garden is going to look spectacular!

My crocus pretty much dissapeared during all my garden redos. Last fall I put in thousands of crocus and put in lots the year before also. So crocus are back here better than ever.

I have had that set up in that trellis garden like that for years. I love the way it looks. Daffs bloom first and then after they are done the tulips bloom.

Rita, you were not messing around when you planted all those bulbs. I only have a few crocuses on the south side of the house. We got up to 68°f yesterday with a little rain overnight.
