I think that would be I.A. U. - U for unanimous. Cant be anon because we are a known 'place to be' every spring. young and old, friends and strangers are aware of where to do a drive by for a glimpse of joy.

GREAT PICTURES!!! Thank you for posting them. I am having more fun than a teenager on an Xbox, whatever that is.....

Mary Ann... the yellows are mostly in an area with orange and yellow mixes. This is now a problem! I have Sun Shine In but didn't label my pic (I thought I would remember it!) so now I'm not sure which photo it is. Oh well, a new season is coming up! I really like Jitterbug, Wise Woman, Spectacle & Jammies. But they are NOT going on a wish list!!! Whistling

My name is Rob, and I'm an irisoholic...

It's been 6 hours since I last looked at my iris beds. I've always had a love of irises, but I can look back and point out the time in my life when the love became an addiction. It was time when I joined "All Things Plants" and "Cubits"...

It's kind of a long story , Lucy. I had ordered it from Winterberry , and when that bunch came, I planted them in what was THEN the new bed, only to have several of them dug up be something, or someone! Brom Bones (or at least the iris I had TAGGED as Brom Bones, wasn't one of the "vandalized" iris, though, and was making good growth by the end of the season. Many of the other SDB's that I had received from the Spoons that summer put up stalks, and bloomed that fall. The following spring, it bloomed, only it WASN'T Brom Bones...it was a yellow self! I contacted Winterberry, and sent a pic to Ginny, and she said "That's Show me Yellow ! I'll send you a Brom Bones with this years order." Well, I got the order, and they were all fine looking plants, but no Brom Bones! Contacted her about it, and she sent one, which was planted mid-August. Last year was a rather dry summer (again!) , but the little guy seemed to like his new home, and settled in fast. About the 10th of October last year, there it was ! A stalk ! But with the cooler ,fall nights, it was "slow growing" for everything ! And then ,alas, everything froze out for good about October 20th ! So , yes, I grow it, and it TRIED to rebloom, and hopefully, I 'll finally get to see it in "full color" this year....hopefully Spring AND fall ! This spring should see maiden bloom on Reddy Set, and Elfin Shadows, too ! So if I can get a chunk of Sun Sprite from you, I'll be well on my way to having to start a special "Burton Bed"! I'm also adding "Suslik" this year. That being a seed grown pumila, can I expect rebloom?..Anyway, that's my story....Arlyn

Brom Bones is John's plant, as is Suslik. Since BB blooms late in Oct. we were trying to find a 'sinister' name with the approach of Halloween. 'Suslik' was from SIGNA seed from the Caucasus. No rebloom there. However it seems to like cold weather as we have seen a report of it flowering in Montana. It is fun to know where one's plants flower. If you look up suslik in the encyclopedia you will see its namesake on the steppes of Russia. Known for their rapid proliferation which is why the plant got its name. Thank you for liking Burton plants.

What do you think ? Looks like the beard is a touch different, the white "zone " on the falls looks close, and the color is "close", but off just a bit...maybe different camera ? Different lighting ?
Thumb of 2014-03-29/crowrita1/48b345

Mines fairly tall, large flower, has faint PBF, pretty , but faint fragrance.Still a NOID for me, but I'm thinking October Sun, and growing a test plant to check (if I can get one to live ,that is !). Or, Here's Banana Frappe...it's a real tall grower, very large flower, fairly well ruffled..

Color is closer, as is the beard, but the "zone " on the falls doesn't look right.....Arlyn
