About the same here. I dont know what the low was, report said it was 28 at 7 am. I see somethings drooping in the yard, but my angel trumpet is still standing tall under the screen, The screen and the pool give me about a five degree edge. I so did not want to loose that angel trumpet right now.
I think I might make some cookie dough and put it in the freezer while its cold out. Ive got to give my kitchen a major cleaning before my Mother comes, and that is one mess I can get out of the way. Im down to two bottles of Jubile, but that should be enough.

Jean...if its the last thing I do..I hope next year I can finally send you a quilt to quilt nodding

Never got close to the predicted 21 for here. I was up @ 3am & it was 31, then at 6 when I really got up, still 31. We never went below that. I'm NOT complaining mind you but I really wish they could do better than getting it wrong by 10 degrees.

They actually hit in right on here. Which is unusual as it's usually a few degrees cooler than what they say it will be. I think the cloud cover over night probably helped.

spoke to soon yesterday. Woke up this morning and my special angel trumpet is totally shot until next spring. Sure makes the patio look tacky.

We got a frost in the front yard. Thus far, just the Elephant Ear is shot. Most other plants just a bit nipped at the tips. Everything in back yard seems to be fine. Now for the warm up............................

Ooh, Brrr, that's a very wintery scene for Florida, Ann. We got down to 39 on Tuesday night and about 44 last night, so no frost or damage here.

Even so, I did cover most of my tender plants including the brugs - just threw a piece of frost cloth over the tops, but it seems to trap enough warmth coming up from the ground to save the leaves. My EEars do just die back if it gets cold, and I throw an extra few inches of mulch on them to protect the tubers. They jump right back up in spring.

It was quite beautiful in person and it didn't take much imagination to make believe it was snow. But you can see why I refuse to zone jump. I don't want to be jumping every time the weatherman says it's going to frost. Hilarious!

The "snow" looks so pretty till the sun comes up, the frost melts, & you see what all got damaged. I'll be doing some trimming of my 10' tall hibiscus shrubs. The tops are nipped & way too early in the season to be looking at the blackened tips. I'm always amazed by what gets nipped & what doesn't. I have Gingers & coleus looking wonderful. Hopefully no more FREEZES till at least Jan!!!! I'm not ready for an early Winter. Although I did get a lot of wear from my Fall sweater this year!!!!

Ive got some dead ends too. What really blew me away this morning, was I walked around to the south side of the house and a bed of lantana, about as big as a small swimming pool, in full bloom, is now deader than a door nail. O man...... Sighing! My beloved yellow and green vines had gotten big leaves, growing up an ok tree. That too is gone, altho will come back. I just think its common philodendrum sp.? It had gotten such big leaves tho. O well. Sunny day at least.

So last week we broke records for the COLD nites (27 at the airport). Yesterday, at 86, we broke the record for the all time high!!!!! Absolutely crazy weather!!!! And now, possibly 3" of rain today-tomorrow. At least it looks like we will be back to "normal" by the weekend and then for a few days going forward. My poor plants just don't know what to do!!!!

I agree, and I dont know what to do. Keep feeding them a little, back off because it froze. I lost more than I thought. The two giant beauty berries...gone. I did cut the stems with the berries. Ive never done that, but Ill see what they do. It was nasty humid and warm yesterday.

Yes. Whacky in the extreme.
Pam, you might try rooting the cuttings you took. As I understand it, the berries are difficult to germinate.

Hey, where is everyone?
Yesterday was spectacular. Played in the back yard all day. Cut back the Cannas, trimmed up a few other plants, dragged all the cuttings to the curb, moved most of the potted plants out of the GH for some natural warm air. Planned to continue today but it has been raining on & off since abt 9. I guess that 10% cloud has decided to hang over my neighborhood. So, until the sun comes out & stays out, I'm catching up on a few other tasks. Just hung the screen door on the Studio. Mopped floors. Cleaned up the sunporch a bit.
Yesterday I rescued a Phal from HD. It was left from the Black Fri sale. Lots of blooms & buds & roots look very healthy. Since I scorched most of my Orchids (put them in the GH when we had the freezing nites & forgot they were in the bright sun during the day) I decided I needed a new baby.
If/when the sun does cooperate today, need to get my veg plants in the dirt.
