I tried working outside yesterday but only lasted about 30 minutes. A cold spell has hit. A few snowflakes today but mostly cold rain. This kind of weather is supposed to last until Wednesday, so I probably won't be doing any gardening until then.

Believe it or not, our snow has not yet melted after 3 days of rain. Fortunately it is not "non-stop rain"!
We had about 12"-18" of snow, which is now about 3"-4", now. Usually when we get rain after the snow, it is mostly gone by the next day. Winter is late here. We will have a glorious spring with many wildflowers everywhere this year. It will be spectacular in the deserts.

But for now, nothing can be done outside. The weeds are having a party under the snow!😁

What do I do every day this winter? Blow snow!

I do some snow shoveling also. DH plows the driveway with the ranger w/blade. He really doesn't mind this year cause we got a new cement driveway last fall which makes it really nice and easy to do.

We have a lot of snow on the ground again. It is going to take longer for this snow to melt cause there is about 5 or 6 inches of it from the last 2 snow storms we got recently.

Cold streak continues and today is very windy. Too cold for me to be outside but no snow on the ground like a lot of you are still dealing with. This cold front is supposed to move along by tomorrow or Thursday and then I plan to get back out there.

Oooh yes! The wind is the worst with storms. It tosses everything around.

It has been cold and windy here, too, as the melting snow has given way to mud puddles all around.

I'm not going out there right now. So no, nothing outside today. Still working on seedlings in the basement.

I did all my seeds yesterday. now I wait for them to grow.

Well, I winter sowed them in jugs. I decided I'm not going to do them in the ground. For me it seems so much easier doing seeds in jugs.
But to answer your question Evelyn, I did herbs. Here is the list of them:
1. wild catnip
2. German chamomile
3. cilantro
4. chives
5. lemon balm
6. mint
7. Russian tarragon

I cleaned up another area in my backyard Wednesday. It rained all day yesterday. A dusting of snow on the ground this morning. Welcome to a Midwest March!
