If we have 3 plants, we use the triangle method.

oh yes, watch the toes. They can walk away from each other if you are not careful.

Hello Everyone! I am new to the forum and All Things Plants but I have been over at GardenWeb for years. I have been enjoying looking at your photos here for about a week and I am happy that I have another place to discuss my love of plants. As I was looking through your wonderful photos, I fell in love with a couple of iris but cannot find where to purchase them online. So, can anyone tell me where I could purchase Brevity or Enchanted Princess. I have googled both and cannot find a supplier for either.

Keith Keppel still had Brevity in his catalog this year for $7. Instructions for getting the catalog are on his website: http://www.keithkeppeliris.com.... Can't help with Enchanted Princess. Sad

Median and dwarf bearded iris often don't get widely distributed, unfortunately.

Thanks Kent. I contacted Keith Keppel shortly after posting here and he told me the same. I will get a catalog and see if I can find others to go with it.

I just discovered the miniature dwarfs this summer but have several standard dwarfs and I love them almost more than the tall ones. Here are some clump shots of a few of my iris. I just started taking clump shots mostly to remember where they are planted after they have finished blooming and to see if the clump increases or decreases from year to year.

Hello Valerie. That is not Michael Paul. It does look exactly like my Cherry Garden but I cannot be sure from a photo. I have both and Michael Paul is very dark purple - almost black falls. Welcome to ATP. I have not been on ATP for an entire year so far but the folks here make me feel right at home. I do not grow Brevity, wish I did, but I do grow Enchanted Princess. I have swapped several of her and have her promised in two more swaps in July. I will see what I have left and if you want to swap for a rhizome of a MDB or SDB that would be great. If I have enough left to swap it will not be a lot... perhaps only one rhizome but that would get you started.

Hi Bonnie. I was sure it wasn't Michael Paul, but since it was sent to me that way I include it in any descriptions until I have a positive ID. I would love to send you a large rhizome if you would compare it to your Cherry Garden. Concerning Enchanted Princess, it was your avatar that made me start looking for it. I went to your page to find the name. It is beautiful! I would love to swap if you have any left. If not, maybe I can catch you next year. I just received my first MDB this summer in a swap and I am hoping it does well. I do have quite a few SDBs. I am hoping to order Brevity from Keppel if I can find others to go with it to make shipping worthwhile.

That sounds great Valerie......finding others to go with it to make shipping worthwhile, that is. Lol You should have better luck with the MDB's than I do. I am in zone 7a and they don't like hot long summers. I have several that have never bloomed and are just diminishing. Icon and Punk. I have a few that do well and boy do I love those. I will check on EC and get back with you. It is not a great increaser but a very reliable bloomer.

Hi Mary Ann! I did not see you there the when I responded to Bonnie. Thanks for the welcome. I think I will enjoy it here on ATP.

Bonnie, sorry to here that some are diminishing. I had Lady Friend and Jazzmatazz decrease this year. I think we had an unusual winter.

Here's a picture of half a clump of Conjuration by Monty Byers. This iris is a rampant grower and prolific bloomer. This clump was about four feet tall, at least a foot taller than any other iris in the garden.

Beautiful clump Carl, and 4 feet tall! Does it withstand the wind and stay upright? Some of those really tall ones fall over easy.
