Another. Everyday I see another old friend. I am often surprised because I forget some of them. Makes me love having a bad memory!!

Beautiful Kathy!
I love the one with the red barn and that last long shot... Smiling
My husband took me shopping today at a wonderful garden Plant Delights, just south of Raleigh,NC
They are mostly a mail order place but have several open houses throughout the season. I got some
fun new things..a voodoo lily konjac, a couple of kniphophias 'Lola' and rooperii, a formossa lily, a spigelia marilandica,
agapanthus 'Stevie's Wonder',a Brugmansia x candida,a belamcanda chinesis 'Hello Yellow' and a bunch of ferns.

Thanks Ursula! I'm a little worried now that I've planted it too close to the house, nothing says
Spring is here...like the odor of rotting meat!

Nice!!! The pumilum foliage looks right but is the flower red-orange? It looks lighter than mine.

Well now, I'm not sure..I'll have to hunt around for the tag! I planted henryi as well. The color is a very dark orange/red. I took the photo early this morning with the sun blasting right on it, so the color is off in the photo. There are many buds up the stem, and this flower is very close to the ground so I didn't notice any freckles.

I picked up an Amorphophallus bulb years ago at a garage sale and grew it for a number of years. Loved the foliage, hated the smell. I gave one of the smaller bulbs to a neighbor one fall and she put it in the basement like I told her to. That Spring I guess she spent a couple days trying to figure out where the rotten meat smell was coming from before she found it blooming in the basement. I had warned her, but guess she forgot. Left mine out too late one fall and it froze.

Pretty Belamcanda!

In the basement? ouch! Now where is that nose-holding emotie?
I would think a nice Bulbo echinolabium in bloom ranks right up there too in the smelling department!
To me some plants bloom so interestingly beautiful that I happily live with a couple of days of stink.....while they are hopefully blooming outside

I have been longing for a bloom on my echinolabium. I doubt the smell would bother me since I'm so used to stapeliads...

Same here.

I have two good size plants of Bulbo echinolabium, bought from different sources and one is only a bit larger than the other and blooms really well. ( Right now in bloom and showing a few more spikes.) The other has not said peep ever in all those years I grow it - right next to the good bloomer.
So, if I only would grow the non-blooming echinolabium, I would think I couldn't bloom it.
